Has kept hot company over hurdles and on Flat since winning over the smaller obstacles at Wetherby in March last year but does arrive fit from run in Northumberland Plate last month. Now goes over fences and should play a prominent role.

Placed in a couple of weak Point-to-points in the past but no ability in trio of novice hurdles and hard to see him figuring in this warm novice chase.

Landed a four-timer over hurdles at around this trip in 2018 but setbacks have limited him to just the three runs since then. Now goes chasing after 14 months off for top yard and clearly has the ability to figure.

Highest rated of these over the smaller obstacles though all wins were gained at 2m. Had one run over fences at Worcester in 2018 and although second, didn't look a natural but the experience will hold him in good stead.

Dual winner on the Flat and also over hurdles at 2m. Well beaten when last seen at this trip last autumn but has had wind operation since suggesting all may not have been well then. Chase debut now.

Front-runner who won won twice over hurdles at up to 2m3f. Now tries fences and stable also represented by Leoncavallo. Has work to do on hurdles ratings.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-5| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien
5/1
Two wins over hurdles, the most recent at Worcester at this trip last October. Now goes chasing a bit late in her career but yard are in good nick so respected.

Forecasts

Leoncavallo (15/8), Haul Away (9/4), Oscar Rose (5/1), Denmead (5/1), Yccs Portocervo (12/1), West Coast Flyer (16/1), Exit Plan (300/1)

Verdict

An interesting novice and Leoncavallo comes here off the back of a good run on the Flat last month, though his one run over the larger obstacles left him with a few questions to answer. HAUL AWAY looked a smart prospect in 2018 before meeting with a few setbacks but hopefully he is now over that and he can make a winning start over fences. Denmead, another making debut in this sphere is an interesting newcomer and should make his presence felt.
  1. Haul Away
  2. Denmead
  3. Leoncavallo
