Reverts to hurdles after a few poor attempts over fences, although looked useful when winning twice over them in the autumn. Fairly treated at present and has gone well after a break before, so reasons why better could be expected here. Trip fine.
Raised 7lb for ready Uttoxeter win earlier in the month but travelled well there, and given that was handicap debut, it'll be a surprise if that's as good as he is. Conditions ideal again, and he looks one of the main players.
Won back-to-back handicaps at his beloved Cartmel last summer but finished the season on a low note, and was readily seen off on reappearance run at Southwell earlier in the month. Others make a bit more appeal tonight.
Better known as a chaser and looks to be using this as a warm-up before reverting to the bigger obstacles. Has a C&D win to his name and certainly nothing wrong with mark, likely to need this run after a break.
Two wins in 13 starts for Emmet Mullins in Ireland, has joined new yard. Trip and ground no problem but handicapper has asked her for plenty on UK debut and she may be best watched tonight.

Forecasts
Clever As A Fox (4/6), Amalfi Doug (9/2), Dolly Dancer (9/2), Wolfcatcher (7/1), Ardera Cross (12/1), Beeno (16/1)
Whereas some of the earlier contests have no pacemaker, that's not the case here, and this should be run at a solid pace. Maybe this is the time to catch AMALFI DOUG, who went off the boil after looking a useful prospect last autumn, as he has conditions to suit and this is very much his track (four wins here). Clever As A Fox looks the one to beat after a ready win at Uttoxeter and with race fitness assured, looks sure to go close. Wolfcatcher is well treated for his new yard and isn't discounted.
