Continues on a steady upward curve (progressive since moving beyond 1m2f); raised a further 3lb following an excellent effort at Haydock (1m6f, soft) latest; 5lb claimer Thore Hammer Hansen is deployed in the saddle.
Seeks the four-timer (2-2 for current trainer Charlie Fellowes); kept on strongly when justifying favouritism in a Class 4 contest at Doncaster (1m6½f, good to firm) 23 days ago; now 6lb higher; first attempt in a Class 2 handicap.
Likeable filly who has built up a string of consistent efforts since late last season (211612); 1lb higher than when beaten a neck by the 100-1 shot Mr Carpenter at York (1m4f, good to soft) ten days ago.
Finished off her race in eye-catching fashion when third (beaten 2L) to the Andrew Balding-trained Be More at Sandown (1m2f, good to firm) a fortnight ago; still low-mileage (1-7), and well worth another attempt at 1m6f.
Nottingham fillies' maiden winner (1m, heavy); highly tried so far this season (Lingfield Oaks Trials and the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes); tackles a new trip (with stamina to prove) on handicap debut from a lofty looking perch of 90.
Runner-up in this contest in 2019 (was beaten a nose by Jedhi); higher in the weights nowadays owing to a shock 25-1 all-out win at Newmarket (1m4f, soft) last November; was set plenty to do on her recent return to action.
Ready winner of a three-runner fillies' handicap (debut) at Newmarket (1m4f, good to firm) three weeks ago; the subsequent 5lb weights rise is probably plenty, but she does continue to progress, and consequently merits respect.
Forecasts
Alemagna (3/1), Kepala (10/3), Dubious Affair (9/2), Chicago Doll (6/1), Sweet Celebration (13/2), Point In Time (15/2), So I Told You (18/1)
A compact field (lacks a three place each-way angle) and all seven of these fillies' have plenty too offer. Dubious Affair makes her first venture into this elevated company (Class 2) but she's on a four-timer, winning with plenty in hand at Doncaster. Kepala (a winner on handicap debut) and Chicago Doll (claimer ridden) arrive in the midst of a positive spell of form, while the Nottingham fillies' maiden winner So I Told You has her sights lowered after contesting the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes. However, for small-stakes, we'll chance the stamina reserves of ALEMAGNA. David Simcock's charge caught the eye finishing well at Goodwood (1m4f) a fortnight ago.
- Alemagna
- Dubious Affair
- Kepala
