Progress is rather gradual but he's steadily making strides towards a win having once again shown fair form last time when second at Musselburgh (1m, good) behind an all-the-way winner. Ought to be involved again if handling quick return to action.
Remains a maiden (0-9) having had a fair few chances to gain an elusive first win. Failed to progress last time at Hamilton (8.3f, good/firm) when looking rather one-paced eventually finishing well held in fourth, hood dispensed with for first time.
Improved on turf debut despite drop in trip (7.1f) at Chepstow (wore first-time visor), looked better the further he went (needed plenty of cajoling early on). Clearly has a lazy streak but also ability, trip will suit, more to come under penalty.
Turf debut having shown on his initial handicap start on the AW that he could have a future in tis sphere. Third at Wolverhampton over 7.2f he performed with credit, allowed to run off the same mark here, he's one to add to the shortlist.
Went into handicaps on the back of just two runs (inexperience showed) finding the 10.2f on yielding ground at Haydock too much of a test. Back to 1m here will suit for the time being, type to improve age/experience given her pedigree.
Has on occasions run some good races however, he undeniably has a lazy/quirky streak in his make-up (often looks a hard ride). Has run two very typical races of late (off the bridle early last time), still to be gelded, one to treat with caution.
Cheekpieces quickly removed after she disappointed in them having had the run of the race at Hamilton (8.3f, good/firm) last time. That run rather summed up her hit-and-miss profile, yet to win a race, may find this too challenging.
Had looked as though she might have something to offer after her 2yo debut, not proved the case though; offered little on handicap debut last time. Cheekpieces now employed (first-time) off a 5lb lower mark, hard to say she offers a solid option.
The sole handicap newcomer in the field having made a discouraging start to his career both as a 2yo and 3yo. Last over 9.9f at Beverley last time (shaped as if amiss), finishing last of 12, first-time cheekpieces now employed, limited appeal.

Forecasts
Le Reveur (5/4), Moonlighting (7/2), Gweedore (9/2), Celestial Wood (13/2), International Lion (7/1), Penmellyn (15/2), Bye Bye Euro (12/1), Bollin Margaret (16/1), Tough Character (33/1), Free Cash (80/1), Fedora Fits (100/1)
The fact that Sir Mark Prescott has a near 46% strike-rate with his 3yo handicappers at Hamilton points heavily in the direction of LE REVEUR who looks a typical improver from this yard who could well set up a sequence (holds an entry at Sandown later in the week). He took a while to get going last time so should relish the increased trip plus the stiff uphill finish here, the penalty not looking a significant factor. He won’t have things all his own way though as both Gweedore and Celestial Wood hold claims of winning an event such as this. Most of the others have something to prove although Tough Character and Bollin Margaret may be capable of better in time.
- Le Reveur
- Celestial Wood
- Gweedore
