Produced a promising first effort at Redcar (7f, good/firm) splitting two fillies who had already won (the winner following up next time). Probably better than she showed on debut (not ideally placed, ran green), could go one better here.

Newcomer (yard 0-9 with debutante 2yo's this year), €26,000 yearling, second foal, half-sister to 2yo 1m winner Top Buck. Dam unraced half-sister to smart 7f/1m winner Port Lions, looks fair sort on paper but faces a couple of decent rivals.

Trainer 1-31 with 2yo newcomer (last five years), 11,000gns yearling, third foal, dam 6f/7f winner, half-sister to very smart 6f/7f winner King's Apostle. Looks to face a stiff task, interesting that yard send her this far for debut.

Third newcomer in the field from a leading 2yo yard (9-40 with debutants this year). Quite stoutly-bred, third foal half-sister to 1m4f winner Caplin, dam, 1m4f-1m6f winner who stayed 16.5f, others may be sharper, no surprise if she runs well though.

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-12| J: K Stott| T: K A Ryan
2/1
No match for a seemingly sharp/good sort on debut at Haydock (6f, good) before finding the Group 2 Queen Mary (5f) too sharp/tough. Could bounce back now upped to 7f with the yard going well of late, 4-27 with 2yo's this year.

Forecasts

Highly Dancer (15/8), Star Of Emaraaty (2/1), Party Spirit (3/1), Kraken Filly (7/1), Apache Jewel (16/1)

Verdict

This may well boil down to a match between the two that have already had racecourse experience with HIGHLY DANCER given a narrow vote over Star Of Emaraaty after the O’Meara filly made a promising debut last time behind a subsequent winner. That first effort was a smart one and she’ll know more about the game this time. Of the newcomers Party Spirit stands out on pedigree although it does look as though she may need some time and distance to be seen at her best.
  1. Highly Dancer
  2. Star Of Emaraaty
  3. Party Spirit
