Was with Aidan O'Brien when gaining only career win and that was in 2016. Clearly had his issues and off the track for 20 months until tailed off last at Kempton a month ago. Impossible to fancy now.
Consistent and game mare won twice at Chelmsford already this year and although unusually unplaced last time after a slow start she is again a sound each-way investment here.
Inconsistent sort but back to last winning mark and 3lb lower than Southwell third in November, Best form mostly on the Fibresand which is a worry; layoff also a concern.
Well into veteran stage and has 13 wins to his credit. Second here in first run back a fine effort (headed on line) but not quite run to that level twice since. Not ruled out.
Ready winner at Chelmsford in March and came back off the break to be beaten a neck by the game Queen Of Kalahari at Newcastle before fourth of 11 on turf latest. Seems to be improving and a leading player here.
Won twice in November last year and on latest start here in February over C&D. Short break since then but no reason he can't pick up where he left off so rates a leading candidate up another 5lb.
C&D scorer finished second of 11 at Windsor on return and looks a leading candidate here only 1lb higher with AW form pretty consistent.
C&D winner on handicap debut and second over same conditions subsequently. Disappointing back on turf latest but can resume progress here just 1lb higher so makes the rather long shortlist.
Veteran who was in fine form this winter winning three times including over C&D. 18/1 winner at Newmarket in June and only 2lb higher than that after two fifths. Never one to ignore.
Mare finished second six times in 11 starts during 2019; keen early when forcing the pace on seasonal bow at Yarmouth (7f) but no real excuses for disappointment at Windsor (6f) latest.
AW form far superior to turf form so poor effort at Windsor latest best forgotten. Midfield here in February after second and first placed efforts also at the course. Could bounce back now.
Busy old campaigner who has nearly brought up the century but is on a long losing run. Very little showed in three starts since resumption and 5lb out of the handicap here.
Forecasts
Daring Guest (5/1), Equipped (5/1), Seprani (5/1), Tomshalfbrother (11/2), Garth Rockett (13/2), Englishman (11/1), Kath's Lustre (11/1), Requited (14/1), Pettochside (16/1), Perfect Symphony (22/1), Pedestal (50/1), Tavener (66/1)
A fiercely competitive handicap with the majority of the field holding legitimate claims. Improving four-year-old TOMSHALFBROTHER gets the vote with his two runs post lockdown both solid. Garth Rockett was in terrific form over the winter and he looks a big danger with Equipped; whose two AW handicaps have seen her finish first and second also a big player.
- Tomshalfbrother
- Garth Rockett
