Good effort of the back of an absence to finish second over C&D here last time out, travelled well and got tired late. Should come on for that and dropping in class today, looks a big player, with conditions ideal again.
Better known for her exploits on the Fibresand at Southwell but she does have a turf win on soft ground to her name (her only win on turf). Not seen since February though, and normally needs a run to put her straight, so best watched today.
Took advantage of the deteriorating conditions to score at Haydock latest (very well backed), travelled well and found plenty when asked to win his race. Up 7lb for that but has C&D form and looks sure to play a part if repeating.
Twice a winner on the Tapeta at Newcastle in the winter and ran well on reappearance last month before disappointing at Thirsk latest (slowly away). Conditions fine and if bouncing back from that poor run, would have a squeak here.
Came back from an absence to run well at Thirsk last month, travelled well and just got tired late to finish fifth. Should come on for that and has some C&D form to her name, so there are reasons to think a better effort might be forthcoming.
Very well backed to score at Redcar on latest start (won easily), taking advantage of a very good handicap mark but that was on much quicker ground than he will face here, and he's been hit with a 10lb rise for it; needs more, but not impossible.
On same mark as his C&D win in soft ground last September, but has plenty of ground to make up on Ey Up It's MIck on their latest Haydock run. Might get a bit closer but hard to see how he turns that form around.
Model of consistency on the Tapeta over the winter at Newcastle, running hsi race almost every time and will win more but this trip on the short side for him, and he normally needs a run to blow the cobwebs away. Best watched today.
No win in seven starts, never being sent off under 20-1, and in truth form not much to shoiut about. Not hard to looks elsewhere for the winner today, with the run probably needed after 11 months off.
Forecasts
Ey Up Its Mick (5/2), Canford's Joy (7/2), Dirchill (4/1), I Know How (9/2), Pearl Of Qatar (15/2), Insurplus (14/1), Liamba (20/1), Shortbackandsides (40/1), Indiaro (100/1)
Ey Up It's Mick and Dirchill come into this off the back of good wins, but the latter has to prove he can do it again on what will be much softer ground. Pearl Of Qatar is likely to come forward after running respectably at Thirsk and looks a danger to all, but maybe the drop in class can see CANFORD'S JOY home in front. He just looked in need of the run here last time and with that under his belt, should strip fitter and can come out on top.
- Canford's Joy
- Pearl Of Qatar
- Ey Up Its Mick
