Air Force Blue colt. Cost €250,000 as a yearling. Failed to build on a pleasing run on debut at Navan last month in a couple of starts since. More needed but not one to put a line through.
Well held in two career starts so far. First time hood unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
Colt by Mehmas. Cost €5,500 as a yearling. Down the field on both career starts to date at Navan and Cork. First-time visor fitted, but unlikely to spark winning mentality.
Colt by No Nay Never. Cost €40,000 as a foal. Not disgraced on Curragh debut last month over a similar trip. Needs to step up on that effort in this company.
Filly by Air Force One out of a Dixieland Band. Cost $80,000 as a foal. Closely related to several winners including Stormy Lucy, successful at up to 1m2f. Best checked in the market on debut.
Filly by Siyouni out of a Dubai Destination mare. Dam winner at up to 1m. Closely related to Alanannda, successful over 7f. Well held on latest start at the Curragh last month, remains to be seen if drop in trip suits.
Holy Roman Emperor filly, cost €70,000 as a foal and €90,000 as a yearling. Running well in defeat in a couple of starts over a similar trip at the Curragh last month. Plenty of room for improvement.
Daughter of Exceed And Excel. Closely related to a number of winners including Spiritual Star and Elusive Million. Yards debutantes often come on for first run.
Exceed And Excel filly out of a Tobougg mare. Cost 150,000gns as a yearling. Closely related to a number of winners including Maljaa, winner over 5½f. Likely to improve on encouraging debut run at Fairyhouse last month.
Forecasts
Hyde Park Barracks (2/1), Blue Cabochon (5/2), Mahaaseel (11/4), Aliyza (6/1), Tammany Hall (16/1), Ablah (22/1), Lady Princess (40/1), King Wasp (100/1), Stop On Red (150/1)
The Kevin Prendergast-trained MAHAASEEL can improve on her pleasing debut run at Fairyhouse last month to land the opener. The daughter of Exceed And Excel, second of the eight runners over 6f leading and going smoothly until headed in the closing stages, should find enough improvement dropping in trip to hold off the attentions of the Fozzy Stack-trained Blue Cabochon, who has run well in defeat on both career starts to date. Hyde Park Barracks for trainer Aidan O'Brien is another clear danger who deserves respect while, Aliyza could be interesting taking a significant drop in trip.
- Mahaaseel
- Blue Cabochon
- Hyde Park Barracks
