Disappointing in the Wokingham on his return, but profile is very positive otherwise, and best efforts have come on soft ground. Not favoured by the weights, but may have more to offer.

Won twice on a sound surface at Goodwood last season, but below form in face of stiff tasks the last twice, and not easy to make a case for him here.

Standout effort last year when beaten in a bunch finish at Fontainebleau (6f, heavy) in November. Claims if finding that form, but patchy overall record tempers confidence.

High class sprinter who took the Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot in 2018, but he's not the force of old it would seem. Eighth in Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot on return, and looks to need this drop in class.

Mudlark who was back to his best when dead-heating in a Listed race at Salisbury in June. Excuses next time, and good fourth to Space Blues here (7f, good/soft) after an absence last month. Looks primed to run well now.

Best effort by some way when winning a 3-runner handicap by a nose at Leicester (heavy) in October. Hasn't repeated that since, and beginning to look flattered, albeit has the ground to suit.

Brad The Brief27
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-13| J: R Kingscote| T: Tom Dascombe| OR:  96| CD
5/2
Beaten just once in five career starts (13111), also demonstrating that he's trained on from his juvenile campaign with a gritty display to beat Buhturi by ½L over C&D. Impossible to knock, although undoubtedly face his sternest test to date here.

Forecasts

Snazzy Jazzy (11/8), Brad The Brief (5/2), Sands Of Mali (10/3), Bielsa (10/1), Archer's Dream (16/1), Fighting Irish (80/1), Green Power (100/1)

Verdict

Sands of Mali is the class act based on his three-year-old form, but more recent efforts are less impressive, and while he will appreciate the big drop in class, he still looks vulnerable, and clear preference is for proven mudlark SNAZZY JAZZY, who ran well over 7f here last month, and will be sharper for that having missed the latter half of 2019. Brad The Brief faces the stiffest task of his career, but is likeable and progressive, so can't be taken lightly.
  1. Snazzy Jazzy
  2. Sands Of Mali
  3. Brad The Brief
