Not beaten far on both starts since the resumption of racing, including when close fourth over 7f at Chelmsford last month. Off the same mark in this but other rivals look to be better weighted.
Has ran two blinders since being switched to the care of Gay Kellaway, culminating with stylish victory in 7f Southwell handicap in March. Goes well fresh and good claimer takes off 7lb. Leading chance.
Course specialist and multiple winner over 5f and 6f at this venue. Rattled off the hat-trick with narrow win on return over 6f here in mid June. Up 5lb for that and yet to win over this trip but earns great respect.
Four-time winner for Richard Hughes and not running badly since switching to this yard but yet to mount a real winning claim. Latest 3L seventh at Chelmsford (6f) in February means a bit more is required.
Typically runs well at Lingfield and has two wins from last four starts there, including over 7f in December. Not seen since and now on a career-high mark but not one to be ignored if handling the track.
Useful sort in the past but hasn't won since 2017. Took a backward step when 10L eighth at Newbury (1m, good) on seasonal return but typically comes on for his first run. Place claims at best.
On a long losing run now and not really showing that will change now, including with 4L sixth at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) three days ago. Mark unchanged but fair bit to prove now.
Had hit a purple patch of form before lockdown began, culminating with narrow defeat behind Steelriver in 5f claimer at this venue in March. Mini-break should be no issue and has top jockey booked. Claims.
Typically consistent veteran who has returned in the same form since the resumption of racing. Last seen finishing 2L third in 6f Thirsk handicap and while he requires more to win, makes each=way appeal.
Forecasts
Manton Grange (2/1), Steelriver (9/2), Lucky Lodge (6/1), Zapper Cass (6/1), Atletico (10/1), Cape Greco (11/1), Swiss Pride (12/1), Beepeecee (14/1), Jem Scuttle (22/1)
Another typically open contest that could see a handful of these go close, preference is for the in-form CAPE GRECO to resume his fine revival. He has seemingly been rejuvenated since transferring to the care of Gay Kellaway and with George Rooke claiming a valuable 5lb, races in effect towards the bottom of the weights. Steelriver and Zapper Cass are closely matched on their previous excellent form at Dunstall Park but both have seemingly been stretched by this trip before, while Lucky Lodge has been typically running up to his mark yet again this season and there is nothing to suggest that he cannot do the same once again, but would need to improve a couple of pouns to land a winning blow.
- Cape Greco
- Zapper Cass
- Lucky Lodge
