Already beat a few of his rivals in this race at Roscommon (1m2f; yielding) when progressing from encouraging handicap/seasonal debut. 6lb higher mark to contend with but he is on an upward curve which can't be said for any of his rivals.

Giving weight away to all but one of his rivals and although this is an ease in grade compared to the race he ran in last time, he hasn't shown anywhere near enough to suggest he can go close in this.

Finished over six-lengths behind Little Brother (3rd) on handicap/seasonal debut at Roscommon (1m2f; good to firm). Extremely difficult task to reverse the form but she should have place claims in what looks a very weak race on paper.

Manner of his defeats the last twice have been concerning after he had previously showed some ability in his first couple of starts. Abnormal improvement required to see him seriously involved now.

Out the back of the field in each of his three starts in maidens, and it was a similar story on his handicap debut at Roscommon (7f; good to firm). Steps up markedly in trip. Impossible to fancy.

Made the worst possible start to life in handicaps when slipping up on the bend after three furlongs. Form prior to that in maidens would leave him with quite a bit to prove, and so he can be left alone.

With jockeys claim taken into account, he is 3lb better off with Jan Wellens after finishing three-lengths into third behind that rival at Roscommon (1m2f; yielding). Difficult to see him reversing the form but he should be in the frame again.

Dropped 3lb after making a very poor start to life in handicaps behind Jan Wellens. She has an impossible task on her hands to reverse that form, and evidence prior to that effort does little to inspire either. Best watched.

Makes seasonal return off a basement mark. Regressed throughout 2019 and was never involved on either of his final two starts of the year at Dundalk (6f/7f; standard). Cannot be advised with masses to prove.

Failed to make any impression on first start of the year on what was his handicap debut at Roscommon (1m2f; good to firm). On all known form it is highly unlikely he will feature towards the front of this race. Readily opposed.

Showed nothing in five starts in maidens. Subsequently no surprise to see him well-beaten on handicap debut when eighth behind Jan Wellens at Roscommon (1m2f; yielding) just 10 days ago. Steps up in trip to 1m4f for the first time.

7lb lower after quiet performance on handicap debut at the Curragh (6f; soft) on final start of two-year-old season in October. Now makes seasonal reappearance after 254-day break. Too much to prove to recommend.

Forecasts

Jan Wellens (6/4), Little Brother (9/4), See The Eagle Fly (5/1), Canford Light (15/2), Complete Fantasy (11/1), Jeff Kidder (14/1), Blue Sky Thinker (20/1), Differentiate (40/1), Almost A Dream (50/1), Rock Chica (50/1), Franno (66/1), Stage Power (80/1), Wyett Earp (80/1)

Verdict

It is very difficult to get away from the claims of JAN WELLENS who broke his duck at the fifth attempt when taking a step forward from a likeable handicap debut the time before. He holds the likes of Differentiate and Franno comfortably on that form, and can make the most of this golden opportunity to quickly follow up. Little Brother finished third behind the selection, which backed up his encouraging seasonal reappearance effort. He has solid place claims again after looking more consistent recently, as does See The Eagle Fly who could sneak into the placings if building on an okay handicap debut.
  1. Jan Wellens
  2. Little Brother
  3. See The Eagle Fly
