Showed improved form to finish second at Limerick (6f; good) in a maiden to a decent yardstick. Returns to handicap company now and should go close if able to reproduce that level of form over a furlong shorter.

Has threatened to returned to form on each of her two starts since returning to the track this year, including when runner-up at Fairyhouse (6f; good) last week. Up 3lbs but drop in trip should suit, and she is majorly fancied.

Resumed 2020 in same way she ended 2019 campaign with a disappointing effort on debut for this stable. Her better efforts have come over this trip, but she has a fair bit to prove after recent performances.

Still searching for elusive first career success after 10 attempts but has been holding her form better than her rivals of late. May improve slightly from reappearance effort at Leopardstown (7f; good). Should appreciate drop in trip/class.

Far from disgraced when fourth at Tipperary (5f; good to yielding) recently, but looks vulnerable for win purposes considering she has a modest strike-rate (1-14) and is 5lb above her last winning mark. Place claims at best.

Would have claims on the strength of her reappearance third at Navan (6f; good to firm), but failed miserably in her attempt to back that up when last seen finishing last of 15 at Navan (6f; soft) last week.

0-14 and has failed to make any impression in two starts so far this year for new yard including at Naas recently when dropped from 1m2f to 1m. Now tried at the minimum trip, and doesn't seem one to be confident about given current form.

Suffered trouble in-running when down the field at Fairyhouse (7f; good) last week. Yard are flying at present (4-8 in last 14 days), and if able to get a clear run she could be well-handicapped 3lb below last winning mark.

Is one of few in this contest with recent winning form to his name, and she posted a likeable comeback effort when third at Fairyhouse (6f; good to firm). Runner-up has gone on to boost the form. Enters calculations.

Has improved for the switch to handicaps this season with a handful of respectable efforts in defeat, including last time at Limerick (1m; good) when suffering a troubled passage. Drop to 5f looks an interesting move, but ran well over 6f recently.

Forecasts

Powersville (7/4), Pretty Smart (7/2), Mi Esperanza (5/1), Myrcella (8/1), Take My Hand (11/1), Nakakande (14/1), Glow Worm (18/1), Athas An Bhean (20/1), Winterkoenigin (28/1), Ellenor Gray (33/1)

Verdict

A competitive looking contest with Nakakande respected given the form of her yard at present. She was unlucky when she was checked when coming with a run on the rail at Fairyhouse. A market check should be advised with her. Myrcella should appreciate this slight ease in grade after running respectably in a typically competitive Leopardstown handicap. If Glow Worm can reproduce the form she showed last time out when runner-up to Eden Quay who was subsequently chucked into a 'Listed' race then she has obvious claims. However, the selection is POWERSVILLE who has returned to the track in much better form than how she ended 2019, & can thus regain the winning thread.
  1. Powersville
  2. Nakakande
  3. Glow Worm
