One from 28 starts over hurdles. Encouraging run on return to action at Limerick last month and trainer may have found a nice opening for the gelding to get back to winning ways here.

Four-race maiden over timber, the Kalanisi gelding produced a career best effort on latest start at Clonmel in March. Market should be informative.

Winner of two of his 17 starts over hurdles but the Royal Anthem gelding has not been seen since a 10L defeat at Fairyhouse in November 2018. Others preferred.

Yet to hit the frame in nine starts over hurdles but produced an encouraging effort on seasonal return at this venue over 2m4f last month. Can improve for first-time cheekpieces.

Tailed off or failed to complete in a number of dismal efforts over hurdles in December/January. Hard to see where improvement is coming from but is in the right hands to produce it.

Never in any of his contests in three starts over the larger obstacles 12 months ago or in earlier skirmishes over hurdles between May and July last year. Looks a tall order on handicap debut.

Age: 10|  Weight: 11-9| J: Mr M C O'Donovan(7)| T: Patrick Cronin| OR:  87

Now racing 5lb lower than last winning mark. Does have ability and looks on a reasonable mark but this looks tough after long break.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-7| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: A Leahy| OR:  85

Four-race maiden, never looked a winner in any of his career starts so far. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.

Dubheen160
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Donagh Meyler| T: G J Power| OR:  83

Is yet to score in seven attempts under Rules. Form has not really improved since joining handicap company in November last year. Hard to fancy until he shows signs of ability.

Horse silk
My Lovely Boy133
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: Gary Noonan(7)| T: T P O'Connor| OR:  83

Yet to make frame in 12 starts over timber. Latest start at Punchestown over 2m4f in February was more encouraging and there may be more to come.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: E Walsh(7)| T: N Dooly| OR:  83

Yet to get near the frame in four career starts over hurdles so far. First time cheekpieces doubtful to bring about the required amount of progress needed to play a role here.

Left a total of seven dismal efforts over hurdles behind her when finishing second of 14 beaten ½L at Wexford over 2m4f on good ground in September. Beaten since but no surprise to witness improvement in this company.

Sent off a big prices so far, running accordingly on each occasion including three dismal efforts in handicap company. First-time cheekpieces unlikely to be the answer.

Verdict

Trainer David O'Brien appears to have found an ideal opening for his eight-year-old gelding DOUBLE WINDSOR to win for the second time over hurdles. Running well on return to action at Limerick last month, the son of Windsor Knot can take advantage of the field racing off a 5lb lower mark than his last win at Wexford a little over 12 months ago. The Gavin Cromwell-trained Jaunty Velocity can improve on a promising return to action in a 2m4f handicap at this venue last month. Fourth of 16 on latest start at Punchestown in February, My Lovely Boy and the 10-year-old Naturally Blonde, placed over C&D previously are worthy of further consideration.
  1. Double Windsor
  2. Jaunty Velocity
  3. Naturally Blond
