Mark is steadily falling, and while he only finished fifth over C&D recently he wasn't disgraced and could still be ready to take advantage of this mark. Steps back up to 6f which is an interesting move.
Well below-par when last seen in January over 7f a this course in January. That was a far cry from the form he ended 2019 in with a win and second at this track. Drops back to 6f, but has too much to prove to recommend.
Open to far more improvement than some of his rivals given lightly raced profile. Improved for the switch to handicaps when competitive on two starts towards end of 2019. Makes seasonal return but only had the one start at 6f. Should go very close
Improved from first run of the turf season to go in at Newbury (6f; good to firm). Never won off a mark as stiff as this and is 0-6 on the AW. Has ran well over this C&D before though.
Perennial bridesmaid who has finished runner-up on all but one of her seven career starts. Keeps finishing one too good, as shown when runner-up in a slightly higher grade at Wolverhampton (6f; standard) last time. Has to be considered.
Obvious claims on the form of his runner-up effort over C&D in a higher grade than this before the enforced break. Not as good in two runs since, but return to the AW could see a return to form.
Failed to progress from what was an encouraging seasonal debut when he could only manage fifth at Goodwood (6f; good to firm) last time out. Not won on the AW since scoring over C&D eight years ago. Look elsewhere for stronger alternatives.
Dual C&D but still 5lb above the mark he scored off here in March, and that was telling when he failed to land any sort of blow at Newmarket (6f; good) last month. Could improve fitness-wise though.

Forecasts
Barrington (11/4), Global Hope (7/2), Marvel (4/1), My Style (4/1), Phoenix Star (15/2), Martineo (8/1), King Robert (14/1), Little Palaver (25/1), Pettochside (25/1)
The handicapper knows where he is with most of these, but one that statement does not apply to is MY STYLE. The selection has fitness to prove on what represents his first run of the year, but he displayed promise on both of his two handicap starts last season and can get off the mark in just his sixth career start. Both King Robert and Martineo are worth mentioning given how well handicapped the pair could be after threatening to return to form on more than one occasion lately. The consistent Marvel is also a sure fire bet to be bang there at the finish once again but is likely to find one to good again.
- My Style
- Martineo
- King Robert
