Horse A-Z
22,000gns yearling; first foal; dam was a placed half-sister to the useful 6f-1m½f winner Fiery Speech; safer to seek the solution elsewhere.

Beautifully-bred Dubawi colt who is a half-brother to the Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow; runner-up (beaten favourite) on both starts, including when no match for King Leonidas over C&D (good) three weeks ago; strong claims.

On the premises when finishing fourth on turf/handicap debut (Class 5) at Doncaster (1m, good) a fortnight ago; it'll come as somewhat of an unanticipated surprise if he possesses the ability to plunder a race of this nature.
Gleneagles colt; third foal from the Listed winner Sentaril (7f-1m); half-brother to the 1m3½f winner Magical Sight; perfectly relevant to assess how he compares in the market exchanges to more appealing stablemate Lawahed.

Sixth foal from the 1m2f winner Sand River; half-brother to three winners in France, including Sarrasin (1m4f Listed) and Sahrawi (1m1f-1m6f, inc Listed); blinkered for his introduction to racing.

Exceed And Excel colt; far too keen on back-end Leicester debut (7f); mid-div finish (fifth) on reappearance at Yarmouth (7f) - runner-up Enemy has since run well in the Britannia, and third-placed Additional was a winner at Lingfield on Friday.

$45,000 foal, €160,000 yearling; 11th foal from an unraced half-sister to the US Grade 3 (1m1f) winner Millions; slowly into stride, and never near to challenge in a 1m Kempton fillies' maiden; appeals as the type to do better with time.

Invincible Spirit filly; dam (Sajjhaa) was a 1m-1m2f winner; couldn't quite match the finishing kick of Godolphin inmate Pure Beauty on debut here (7f, gd/fm) 23-days ago - form loosely boosted since by the likes of Dreamloper and Wolflet.

Forecasts

Eastern World (8/13), Lawahed (5/2), Warning Shot (13/2), Jalwan (16/1), Kettle Hill (22/1), Sacre Bleu (40/1), Commander Of War (66/1), French Battle (80/1)

Verdict

Despite the presence of a trio of newcomers (Kettle Hill possibly the pick) there's a strong likelihood that this race will develop into a straight match between the once-raced filly Lawahed and the more experienced Godolphin representative EASTERN WORLD. The selection has been a beaten odds-on favourite on both starts, although he probably bumped into a useful type in the shape of King Leonidas (sixth in the Jersey Stakes since) over C&D three weeks ago. Similar comments apply for the William Haggas-trained filly, with her course debut (7f) loosely boosted since by a couple of beaten horses, namely Dreamloper (third at Doncaster) and Wolflet (second at Kempton).
  1. Eastern World
  2. Lawahed
  3. Warning Shot
