Zayif gelding cost €6,000. Half-brother to two wining 2m hurdlers, and dam won over 1m1f; finished mid-pack on debut at Thurles in January; open to improvement and one to note.

Only completed one of his four point-to-point starts; very unlikely to be good enough here on racecourse debut.
Jeremy gelding who has shown promise on all his starts including last time out at Wexford; certainly going in the right direction and should be winning a race of this standard shortly.

Showed plenty of promise on his first two outings at Leopardstown and Thurles; sent of a well backed favourite in March again at Thurles, he failed to handle the soft conditions; worth another chance.
Modest form in a couple of point-to-point efforts recently but performed well in bumper at Roscommon earlier this month; can progress and has a chance.
Third foal; related to plenty of hurdler/chaser types as well as middle-distance performers on the Flat; difficult to know what to make of him on debut and market may provide clues.
Showed promise in a couple of bumpers over the winter before showing even more promise in two maiden hurdles; should be winning races before too long.
Ex-Godolphin; no real promise on racecourse debut at Down Royal this time last year but showed he had a ability when sent to Stratford in March; can improve again.

Cost E12,500 as a three-year-old; eighth foal; dam unraced half-sister to useful chase winner Clondaw Knight; may struggle against those with experience but a market check would do no harm
Valued at E25,000 as a three-year-old; no great shakes on breeding and unlikely to be a winner on first racecourse appearance.

150/1
Yet to complete in three point-to-points (pulled up twice and unseated on the other occasion); well beaten in small field heavy ground bumper at Limerick in March; others preferred.
First foal; cheaply bought as a yearling for just 1,000 euros; difficult to assess and only clues to stable confidence will be found in the betting ring.
Cost 12,000 euros as a foal falling to 5,500 euros when re-sold as a three year-old; first foal; unraced dam closely related to 2m-2m7f chase winner Ballyegan.
Weakened in the closing stages, not beaten too far, on his only racecourse appearance at Punchestown in December; entitled to improve.
Won the last of three point-to-points in Britain in May, and joined current connections for £19,000 subsequently; given gentle introduction at Leopardstown in December; will improve.

Verdict

CURLEW HILL showed plenty of promise on his first two bumper runs before being a well beaten favourite last time out. With ground conditions expected to be more too his liking he should be able to take this opportunity to get off the mark. Tango Charlie was a point-to-point winner in England and was not given a hard race on his Irish debut at Leopardstown on Boxing Day. He may want further in time but should run his race here. Somme Soldier ran with credit on his racecourse debut at Punchestown in December and he will be winning races before too long.
