Made a mistake at the last before rallying to win on racecourse bow at 16/1 at Cork in April 2019; has generally struggled since then in a number of handicaps; has been given a slight chance by the handicapper so no forlorn hope.
Winner of three of his four starts in bumper company. Below-par over timber at best in a number of starts between November and March; recent winner on the Flat at Limerick.
A little bit inconsistent but has the talent to win races; possibly a little high in the weights at present but will appreciate this step back in trip.
Should be fit from recent run on the Flat at Roscommon; won over this trip at Gowran Park in October though disappointed next time out later that month at Leopardstown; may find a few too good off current mark.
1-17 over hurdles. Well treated based on his peak efforts, but was well below them on latest efforts including when pulled up on chase debut; plenty to prove on his return from a short break.
33-1 but made most when close second of 25 on handicap debut at Leopardstown (2m, soft) at Christmas; failed to repeat that effort in two subsequent performances and something to prove at present.
Has been competing on the Flat; last two hurdles performances were particularly poor; was in good form this time last season and can race off a reasonable mark; chance on best of form.
Improved in three hurdles start in the early summer and would have made frame but for last-flight fall at Roscommon in June; well held on last three start; looks exposed now.
Held in three handicap starts since winning by a neck in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Killarney (good) in July; has dropped a few pounds but hard to be confident about.
Only seen the racecourse once since 2018 doing so at Sligo when fifth of six; hard to see him being ready to win this after long and troubled absence though chance if back to best.
One from 13 over hurdles; currently on a wretched run of form over timber since returning from a break in September; hard to see where sudden return to form will come from.
Winner at Sligo in August 2019 over 2m1f; has only raced poorly on the Flat since then and is 7lb higher than for that last win: hard to assess.
Has proved himself to be a very consistent chaser in most recent outings without getting his head in front; has won over hurdles but not raced over them since 2018; fair chance on best of form and worth a check in the market.
Has shown glimpses of ability over hurdles including last time out at Thurles; much more needed here to get involved on handicap debut.
Put all known form behind her when winning confidently at Punchestown on penultimate start; reverted to underwhelming ways next time at Naas; a bit of a mystery.

SHANROE has not made the best of starts to his hurdling career but is given a chance to put things right in this not too competitive race. The gelding was a useful bumper performer and a recent win on the Flat confirms his well being. If his hurdling has improved then he could go very close. By contrast Give Battle won his last hurdles race but has been poor on the Flat. He should relish this return to hurdling. Knock On Steel is given his first chance over hurdles since 2018. If he can bring the consistency he showed in chases then he should go close.
- Shanroe
- Give Battle
- Knock On Steel
