Non-runner at Haydock (Thursday), on a losing run that is starting to grow having not won since taking a Wetherby 1m2f handicap last May off a 5lb higher mark. Ran badly on Fibresand when last seen (1m), back up in trip, bounce back needed.
Still a maiden but a fair one who caught the eye back on the Flat from juvenile hurdling last time (did best of those held up) over 9.5f on Tapeta. Cheekpieces on first-time after a wind op, yard going well, sound run looks on the cards.
Fair maiden, runner-up on AW her last two starts (wore first-time blinkers on first occasion), moved well through both races. Stays this trip (only one previous try at it), 9lb lower than her one previous handicap try, not one to take lightly.
Took a Sandown maiden over this trip for John Gosden in 2018 but looks to have suffered problems since especially for this yard. Showed little in the way of form all last year over this trip, hard to recommend returning from an absence.
Dual course winner (once at this trip), generally runs too freely to do himself justice these days and looks a quirky sort. Those foibles were kept in check at Pontefract (1m2f, good) last time (headgear back on), still not one to trust implicitly.
AW winner (9.5f) at Wolverhampton in February (yard going well at the time), failed to follow-up in two runs over the sane C&D. Can be slow away, has won on higher marks in the past, needs find some form off an absence to get involved.
Stable debut (formerly with Tom Clover), out of sorts for his previous yard after wind surgery in 2019 although did run a sound race first run back from that procedure. Tongue-tie now on first-time, best watched until regaining some form.
Well backed at Beverley earlier in the week, ran well until stamina ebbed away over 9.9f, finished third but clear of rest of field. Looked in good heart, capable sort at this level, would be of more interest over slightly shorter trips.
Not had much racing for one of his age (unraced as a 2yo), showed his best form as a 3yo over C&D (may have been flattered). Little impression so far in handicaps over two different trips, down in distance today, well held last time, limited appeal.
Brighton icon having won there nine times, ventures North having never won away from the South Coast. Failed to score last year even at his favourite course; not the force of old, hard to see him making much of an impression in the circumstances.
Did little for Ruth Carr over a variety of trips in minor/handicap company prior to joining this yard. Shown very little in two starts divided by a wind op and looks of little account, 1lb out of the weights, hardly the most persuasive profile.

This looks a fairly weak contest and with Alan King having his Flat performers in good health since racing resumed KINGS ROYAL HUSSAR gets a good opportunity to record his first success. Fresh off wind surgery may well be the time to catch him and this race is likely to pan out a bit better than his last time out Wolverhampton effort. Love Explodes now looks nicely handicapped and deserves to be considered along with Croeso Cymraeg although that one would be more at home on the AW. Our Charlie Brown could once again find this 1m2f trip a shade too far whilst Rgeebee is worth noting if there are any strong market vibes.
