Reaching the veteran stage of a modestly successful career; has been mainly chasing in recent times; has not been competitive in a hurdle race since 2018; similar story expected.
Sprang a little surprise when winning recently over 2m on the Flat at the Curragh; had previously been below par over hurdles and fences; not particularly well handicapped but with confidence up, could go well.
Consistent type who wins his fair share of races including on penultimate start at Sligo (3m, yielding); struggled slightly next time out at Listowel when weights were upped; could be similar story here.
Generally a consistent sort over fences and over hurdles; last hurdles win came in March 2018 off a 12lb lower mark; another who needs some relief from the handicapper.
Fair effort on penultimate run (after a long absence over hurdles) when finishing runner-up at Down Royal where he was staying on strongly over an extended 3m trip; needs to bounce back from sub-par run last time at Gowran Park.
Off the mark at the fifth time of asking for connections when winning a Downpatrick maiden hurdle last July; let down by mistakes next time at Galway; looks on a fair mark; interesting contender.
Off the mark at just the third time of asking over course and distance last July; only raced once more later that month when let down by his jumping at KIllarney; difficult to assess after long absence.
Solid and consistent in three point-to-point starts without managing to get his head in front in 2018; well held on all three hurdles outings to date and connections will be hoping a switch to handicaps will bring a change in fortune.
Had been in excellent form from August 2019 onwards until stepped up to this trip at Ballinrobe in September and well beaten twice subsequently; needs to regain some confidence.
Modest on the Flat and struggling in four starts over timber since; others preferred.
Reserve 1 Lightly-raced Flemensfirth gelding turning out on only sinceoccasions since April 2018; fair effort in March in chase at Clonmel.
Reserve 2 Good form and promise since July has dissipated somewhat in last three starts; will need to improve to figure.

Mutadaffeq (7/4), Quamino (2/1), Global Fert (4/1), Tiger Twenty Two (8/1), The Tartan Spartan (12/1), Ashqar (12/1), Accidental Rebel (12/1), Hardy Man (14/1), Chasing Abbey (16/1), Pump Road (16/1), Comporta (16/1), Sizing Malbay (25/1), Father Jed (25/1), Early Voice (33/1), Happy Lad (50/1), King's Song (66/1), Sang Tiger (66/1)
HAPPY LAD needs to improve his jumping but has plenty of natural ability and he is given a tentative nod in this contest. He took a while to get the hang of things over hurdles - winning on his fifth attempt and looks fairly progressive. Mutadaffeq is a recent winner on the Flat. While his National Hunt form is not as good, with confidence up he could go close. The Tartan Spartan was a very useful Flat performer and is open to plenty of improvement over hurdles.
