Victorious over this trip on firm ground at Salisbury in July last year but has disappointed on all four subsequent starts. Worth a check in the market racing off a mark 4lb lower than for that Salisbury victory.
Performed well when finishing 1L second off this mark over C&D in September last year. Market support would be notable on first start since finishing 8L ninth over the same trip at Newcastle in early November.
Winner of both starts since the resumption of racing including by 1¾L over this trip at Wolverhampton just under a fortnight ago. Previously victorious over this C&D and holds strong claims despite a 6lb rise in the weights.
Decent effort in finishing 2½L fourth in a handicap over 5f here earlier this month. Shaped as if a return to this trip would suit and he is an interesting runner in this contest.
Finished fifth on both starts this year most recently in a 7f handicap at Wolverhampton in January. Absent since and wears a tongue tie for the first time as he seeks a first victory in nearly three years.
Southwell regular finished 1¾L third in a 5f handicap at the Nottinghamshire venue when last in action back in March. Races off the same mark here and ran well on his only previous start at this venue.
Completed a course double when winning by a short-head over 7f here last October. Had won over this C&D prior to that and is likely to have improved for his 9¼L seventh here on seasonal debut at the weekend.
C&D winner built on a promising 2L seventh over this trip at Lingfield on his penultimate outing when winning by ½L at Newmarket (6f, good) last time out. Interesting to see how he fares under a 4lb penalty.
Finished 13L last of seven on stable debut at Southwell (6f) in February and refused to race over the same trip at Chelmsford earlier this month on his only subsequent start. Others make more appeal.

Sepahi (11/4), Followthesteps (4/1), Englishman (9/2), Big Lachie (9/2), Magicinthemaking (11/1), Mr Buttons (12/1), Stallone (16/1), Global Melody (18/1), Storm Melody (22/1), Avenue Of Stars (33/1)
SEPAHI has been in good form of late and she can register her third victory this month by taking this sprint handicap. The selection can get the better of Magicinthemaking who is likely to have improved for her recent seasonal reappearance and was in good form here last autumn while third place can go to the veteran Englishman who returned to winning ways on turf last time out.
- Sepahi
- Magicinthemaking
- Englishman
