13-race maiden but thrice went close on all-weather circuits earlier in the year at 7f/1m; admittedly in fairly weak company but a contender if returning to turf after 109-day break in the same mood.

Eight-time winner, though just 2-22 on turf; confirmed suspicion he's lurking on a possible winning mark when second at Wolverhampton 10 days ago (1m1½f) and is rated just 1lb higher back on turf. Should be in mix.

Experienced and reliable performer; just the one win last season at Musselburgh (1m, good to firm; 6-1) but ran lots of commendable races in defeat. Mark is workable but history suggests may need a run or two before hitting his stride.

Unlucky not to get this head in front in eight starts for this trainer last season; is another that tends to need the fitness before putting things together and probably best watched as such.

Scored on the Tapeta at Newcastle in November (7f) having joined this yard at the end of the summer; also good form this spring on the AW and would have sound claims if bringing that level of performance on this return to turf.

Got up in the final strides at Wolverhampton recently (1m1f) to shed the maiden tag at the 13th attempt; with False ID behind. Decent claims of a follow-up back on turf.

0-20 on turf previously; couple of all-weather wins in weak heats in 2018 but mostly out of form last year. Record first time up isn't inspiring and can be overlooked.

Doesn't have big miles on the clock for a 10-year-old but sole turf win came in May 2016 at Ayr (1m, good to soft). Alternated between heavy defeats and near missed last year; has gone well fresh in the past so certainly not discounted.

Long-standing maiden only made the frame once in 20 starts; that was at Hamilton (1m½f, good; 25-1) a year ago but failed to build on it. First-time blinkers now and mark is 11lb lower than it was in that contest. Has ability to win race like this.

Millie The Minxp117
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-2| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR:  47

Has a pair of wins over hurdles but 0-10 on the level previously, was in decent form in the spring when jumping and last year's efforts in this sphere would certainly give her a squeak in a weak race.

Both career wins have come on turf; arriving in a five-day spell at Carlisle (6f, good to firm) in July last year under this claimer. Out of form earlier in the year on the AW circuit but return to turf could help. Mile does stretch her stamina.

Forecasts

Queen Mia (9/4), Mr Cool Cash (13/2), False Id (7/1), With Approval (7/1), Tarnhelm (10/1), Be Bold (11/1), Millie The Minx (12/1), Don't Be Surprised (14/1), Temple of Wonder (16/1), Silk Mill Blue (22/1), Joyful Star (33/1)

Verdict

Just what you'd expect in this grade, with any of the 11 capable of winning if in the mood. Millie The Minx is capable on last year's best efforts but might need a longer trip so preference is for QUEEN MIA, who benefitted from a drop in trip to win at Wolverhampton recently and can confirm that form with False ID now. Any confidence behind With Approval or Don't Be Surprised would be noted returning from their breaks.
  1. Queen Mia
  2. False Id
  3. With Approval
