Seems happier on the AW in recent times; needs to bounce back from poor show at Leopardstown last week to get competitive once again.
Two most recent racecourse appearances have been underwhelming performances over hurdles; still lightly-raced on the Flat; hard to make a strong case for though market support would be interesting.
10-race maiden; has shown occasional glimpses of ability on turf and the AW but his overall profile does not suggest he will be breaking his maiden tag in the near future.
Winner over a similar trip, the seasoned campaigner is just one win from 19 starts on the Flat for connections. Will need to raise overall profile here to play a role in the finish.
Overall form on the Flat tailed off somewhat towards the end of the season after getting off the mark at the 16th time of asking; promising recent run at Tipperary and interesting she is turned out so quickly.
Ran better than expected on seasonal reappearance at Tipperary three days ago, running a solid race despite missing the break; step up in trip to suit and certainly one to consider.
1-19, having won a Kempton handicap (1m, AW) in 2018 when with William Knight. Made the frame in a Dundalk claimer in March, but held from this mark on recent return at Leopardstown. More needed.
Returned from 19-months off to gain first ever Flat success getting off the mark at the ninth time of asking in April 2019; did show better form on the Flat rather than hurdles subsequently but looks vulnerable off current mark.
Has generally been running below par on the AW over the winter; does have ability but very difficult to recommend on recent evidence.
Won a heavy ground maiden over course and distance but that's his only success since 2017; finished down the field on seasonal reappearance recently; should do better but does not appeal greatly as likely winner.
Still a maiden after 24 racecourse appearance; has shown some bits and pices of form on the Flat and ran with credit when placed recently at Gowran Park; may have to settle for minor honours again.
Has been off the track since a busy but unproductive spell in spring/summer last season; yet to hit the frame and needs a quick surface to show her best.
Not seen since finishing last at Tipperary in June 2019; overall form suggests she is unlikely to be troubling the judge off current mark.
Forecasts
Overheer (7/2), Loudest Whisper (7/2), Highway To Heaven (5/1), Walkabout (11/2), Giorni Felice (13/2), Vocal Duke (14/1), Goodwood Showman (14/1), Secret Wizard (20/1), Heavens Align (20/1), Ally Cay (22/1), California Lad (33/1), Jillbridge (80/1), Sao Paulo (100/1)
OVERHEER overcame some problems out of the gate on his reappearance run at Tipperary three days ago. Given more luck and with that run under belt, this step up in trip should suit and give him every chance. Highway To Heaven is interesting given she is back on the racecourse so quickly having run a fair race at Tipperary recently. Any market moves would be interesting. Another for whom market support would be an indication of stable confidence is Sao Paulo. The six-year-old is lightly-raced enough on turf to suggest there may be more to come.
- Overheer
- Highway To Heaven
- Sao Paulo
