First foal of a winning sister to Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso. Well fancied, but dropped out tamely after leading when 10½L fifth of 7 to Golden Melody in a 6f Haydock novice on debut, and has questions to answer after that display.

Expensive half-sister to 2-y-o 6f winner Donnybrook . Not disgraced, although failed to meet expectations when 2L sixth of 9 to Valpolicella in a 6f maiden here 16 days ago. Clearly thought capable of better, and given a chance to improve.

Quite well related, and although she was unfancied on her recent debut at Newcastle, she didn't shape without promise when when 6¾L sixth of 12 to Pelekai. Not a forlorn hope with improvement expected.

$190,000 yearling out of US 6f-7f winner (inc Grade 3) Madame Cactus. Neck in from of Sky Angel when fourth of 9 to Valpolicella in a 6f maiden here early in the month. Knew her job there, so not certain to confirm the form.

Wedding Dance
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: Cieren Fallon(3)| T: C Appleby
10/3
600,000 gns half-sister to useful 1m/1m1f winner Ibraz out of a winning half-sister to smart 1½m winners Reverie Solitaire and Queen's Best. Starting off at the right trip given pedigree, and should make a bold bid for leading connections.

Forecasts

Sky Angel (4/5), Wedding Dance (10/3), Star Cactus (6/1), Monza City (15/2), Spirit Of Sisra (28/1)

Verdict

Sky Angel is fancied to reverse recent course form with Star Cactus, who was just a neck in front of her in a bunched finish, the latter having no excuses after leading early. That said, both could struggle to beat the beautifully bred WEDDING DANCE, a stablemate of Sky Angel, who will appreciate starting off at 7f, and makes most appeal on paper, assuming the market does not tell a markedly different story.
  1. Wedding Dance
  2. Sky Angel
  3. Star Cactus
