Has finished much closer to last than first on all her racecourse appearances; probably better opportunities in low grade handicaps when the time comes.

Improved greatly on course and distance debut in June 2019 when finishing 3rd at the Curragh the following month; long absence a slight concern but one to consider.

Half-sister to Group 2 winner over seven furlongs Ansgar; connections likely to be patient with her progress though strong market signals would be interesting.

Cost 17,000 euros as a yearling; first foal; related to some useful types over much further than this and things might happen a bit too quick for her here.

Did little wrong in defeat earlier this month when going down by a neck at Gowran Park over a similar trip; looks a leading contender if reproducing that form.

Bought for 60,000 euros as a yearling; third foal; related to some speedy sorts on his dam's side and no surprise to see her running creditably on her debut.

Positive debut at the Curragh in September was followed up by useful perfromance behind future Group 3 winner Lemista; looks to set the standard here and looks leading light if she has wintered well.

Certainly not disgraced when finishing 4th in a 29-runner Curragh maiden in August; open to plenty of improvement and a very interesting runner in this contest.

Cheaply bought as a yearling after fetching 75,000 euros as a foal; comes from useful family most notably being a half-sister to Listed performer Global Applause; market should reflect her chances.

Better judged on two reasonable performances at Sligo and Down Royal than her disappointing run at Listowel in September when finishing stone last; fair chance on best of her form.

Cost 45,000 euros as a yearling; fourth foal; related to Group 3 winner Leitrim House; chances will be best reflected in the market, perhaps.

Showed some promise in Naas maiden in June 2019 but put in two poor runs either side of that effort; no obvious reason why she will be good enough to land this.

Just two races last season four months apart; showed useful promise on both occasions and will not have to improved too much over the winter to play a leading role here.

Fourth foal; related to some minor winners around the globe; overall pedigree would suggest she will need further than this in time and probably best watched on debut.

Reserve 1 Cheaply bought filly who is bred to stay much further in time; has experience but unlikely to be good enough if getting her chance.

Verdict

GIN BLOSSOM could be set to lose her maiden tag on the third time of asking. The filly showed some useful form last season, most notably when runner-up behind a rival that went on to land a Group 3 contest. If she has wintered well then she could take all the beating. Bestrella will have a fitness edge of most of these and she did little wrong in defeat last time at Gowran Park. If running a similar race she should be in contention. Sunday Sweet ran some fair races in defeat last season and if progressing she should be capable of winning races soon.
