Oasis Dream colt. Newcomer. Sales price rose from 78,000gns as a foal to €95,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to eight winners. One of a few in this contest whose yard has made a flying start to this campaign. Market check advised.

Lacked finishing speed when fifth at Newcastle (5f; standard) on debut. Showed enough ability to suggest a race of this nature could be within his grasp. Should improve for going up a furlong in trip and is one of the likelier contenders.

Footstepsinthesand colt who made a promising debut effort in a strong-looking Newmarket (6f; good to firm) maiden. The front two have engagements at Royal Ascot this week, so it will be interesting to see how strong the form really is. Major claims.
Showed very little on debut at Chelmsford (6f; standard) last week when comfortably beaten into sixth. Experience could be in her favour but plenty more needed if she is to feature at all. Others make greater appeal though.

Verdict

A decent looking maiden with the two newcomers Elected and Headshot looking interesting candidates on paper. The former will probably need stepped up in distance in time but he should represent himself well enough, which makes the latter a more appealing proposition given his pedigree. Ready preference is for the other Richard Hannon-trained contestant though in the shape of SAUNTON whose debut form in a Newmarket maiden could prove to be high class. If he runs to that level again he should prove tough to beat. The step up to 6f should suit Mutazawwed who displayed plenty of promise on debut until being ran down late on by speedier types over the minimum trip.
  1. Saunton
  2. Headshot
  3. Mutazawwed
