Gelded. By Toronado. Half-brother to a winner who won over sprinting trips. One of a few in this contest of whom interest would be more solidified in if the market spoke positively for them. Yard had a winner on Monday at Fairyhouse.
Career-best effort for former stable came over this C&D when runner-up last May. That is sandwiched by two low-key efforts, but he goes well fresh and may improve for the change of scenery. Another one who should be monitored in the betting.
Is actually a three-year-old but is still making belated debut for this yard. By Galileo but is a half-brother to four winners in France. Betting likely to prove informative regarding his chances but is respected nonetheless for these connections.
Evidently not been easy to train (only had the two starts; one in 2018; one in 2019). However, he did take a good step forward from his debut effort when runner-up at Limerick (1m; yielding) just over a year ago.
Failed to progress from debut effort at Navan (1m; good) when finishing down the field at Cork (1m2f; good). Not seen after that so has questions to answer regarding 424-day absence, and as such he is best watched.
Only 10th on debut at Naas (6f; soft to heavy) in a moderate event. However, he steps up notably in trip which could yield some much needed improvement. Likely to place at best for yard who have been in decent enough form since racing returned.
Finished in front of a few of todays rivals when runner-up on debut at Dundalk (1m; standard). Could improve but will need to as that was a very weak affair. Booking of top jockey could prove notable.
Shown major improvement over jumps in recent times (rated 150 over hurdles) and was last seen finishing ninth in the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival (3m; soft). Yet to hit those heights in two runs in this sphere, but foolish to rule out.
Beaten an awfully long way on debut over this C&D just under a year ago when 12th of 14. Impossible to make a case for on that evidence and is subsequently best watched for the time being.
Makes debut for new yard after formerly being in the care of Henry de Bromhead. Only had the one run for that yard as a two-year-old when beating just the one rival at the Curragh (6f; good). 662-day absence to overcome as she steps up in trip.
Makes debut for new connections after failing to show anything for Dermot Weld/Aga Khan in two visits to the track last year. Current stable/jockey are yet to get going and she will be of greater interest when entering handicaps off a low mark.
Mixed messages regarding the trip as she was dropped back to 5f at Navan when last seen and previously racing over 7f. Now steps up to 1m1f but she hasn't shown any improvement in any of her three subsequent runs since making debut. Readily opposed.
Failed to offer much encouragement when ninth in an extremely moderate race at Dundalk (1m; standard) on debut in March. Would need to show marked improvement from that effort to feature here, and there are safer alternatives to choose from.
Posted career-best effort when fourth at the Curragh (1m2f; good) in June. Not seen since but the winner (Leo De Fury) of that contest came out and won a Group 2 at the weekend. If she can build on that she rates as a major player.

Forecasts
Great House (10/11), Hurricane Cliff (10/3), Switch Around (17/2), The Alpha Man (10/1), Defilade (10/1), The Jam Man (14/1), Bella Regina (22/1), Bocas Del Toro (33/1), Gotta Getaway (33/1), Kefallonia (50/1), Roundel (80/1), Karashala (100/1), Quiet Desire (150/1), Lovely Buvinda (250/1), Battleitis (250/1)
There are a few in the line-up who are unknown quantities such as the newcomer Bocas Del Toro while Karashala, Bella Regina and Defilade are all making their debuts for new stables and may improve. The Donnacha O'Brien yard are still to get going since racing resumed but the Galileo colt Great House is an interesting newcomer for them. Hurricane Cliff must defy another absence but he produced a decent performance when second after a layoff last year and that was a definite improvement on his debut effort. In an open race though, the selection is SWITCH AROUND who posted a career-best to finish third to a subsequent group winner when last seen.
- Switch Around
- Hurricane Cliff
- Great House
