Took a step back in the right direction on debut for this stable at Newcastle (1m; standard) in December. Question mark beside him regarding fitness, but he remains lightly raced and could enter the frame if building upon effort last time out.

May be worth another chance on turf, but fair to say more was expected on his handicap debut at Dundalk (6f; standard) in March. Subsequently has some convincing to do off the back of that off a 3lb lower mark.

Had no chance when pitched into a Group 3 at the Curragh (7f; good to firm) at the weekend. Far from disgraced though, and interesting that she is turned out quickly from that effort in this easier grade. Betting may prove to be informative.

11-race maiden who is starting to look regressive. Failed to make any impression in three starts after making a promising reappearance last season. Interesting jockey booking and makes return to action off career-low mark but is not worth the risk.

Winless in seven starts, but run in a handicap over this trip at Limerick (7f; heavy) was by far one of her more encouraging runs. May want softer ground but stepping back up in trip offers room for optimism. Can grab a place.

Ran in accordance with her odds in the market (sent off 50-1) when failing to get involved at Naas (6f; good to firm) last week. Been struggling to recapture her best form for some time now, despite handicap mark falling.

Record on turf (0-16) would advise extreme caution. So too would the manner of her recent performances in defeat, especially when finishing down the field at Naas (6f; good to firm) recently. Stable/jockey out of form so can be opposed with ease.

Should be fitter than most, despite not being seen since March when making promising AW debut at Dundalk (1m; standard). Returns to turf and he is lightly raced so could be open to plenty of improvement.

Won over 1m at this course in September, and also got on the scoresheet at Dundalk a couple of runs after that. Not in the same form since though and she has never won off this mark before. Others hold more pressing claims.

Steps back up to 7f which offers some element of hope, but his two efforts so far for this stable have yielded nothing so far. This is a slight ease in grade as he makes his seasonal reappearance but he has masses to prove.

Remains 8lb above her last winning mark and handicapper has her in his grip judged on two subsequent efforts which were posted after her last victory at Tipperary (7f; soft to heavy). Can be readily opposed for now until offering more encouragement.

Ran better than his finishing position would suggest when seventh at Dundalk (7f; standard) back in March. That form has since been boosted by the fourth who came out and won over this C&D last week. Has to be considered.

Showed minor promise last season in a trio of maidens at this track. Now makes handicap debut in a first time tongue-tie. Needs to show much more encouragement before any serious faith can be invested into her.

First reserve. Failed to justify market favouritism (sent off 4-1f) over C&D last week when only managing to finish in midfield. Evidently though capable of better so no surprise to see him bounce back if getting in.

Verdict

A wide open affair to get proceedings underway with a tentative vote shaded in favour of CALONNE who should appreciate the drop back to 7f after producing an encouraging first run for this stable over 1m at Newcastle six months ago. He has only had the six career starts so could be open to plenty of improvement. Peshkova is likely to be cherry ripe for this assignment and is fully respected after she blew away the cobwebs when a rank outsider in the Gladness Stakes over the weekend. Both Loaded and Airgead ran better than their finishing positions would suggest last time out and it would be no surprise to see them finish in the money
