Fifth foal; half-sister to 2m Flat and 2m hurdle winner Leoncavallo, out of 1m½f AW 2yo winner, who stayed 1m4f. Trip looks a good starting point. Stable 20% with 2yos over five seasons and already had a winner since racing resumed. Interesting.
£9,250 yearling; daughter of Markaz. 50-1 on recent debut at Lingfield (6f, AW), where she beat just two home. Can only watch, as she looks likely to be up against it in this field.
100,000gns yearling; second foal; dam US 1m winning half-sister to Listed-placed 7½f winner Roscoff (dam of Italian 2,000 Guineas winner Hero Look). Stable has had a recent 2yo winner (16% over five years) and she should be capable of a good debut.
Second foal; dam was well beaten on her sole start, half-sister to 7f/1m winner Duty Doctor, out of a Listed 2yo sprint winner. Pedigree suggests that she is one to take a watching brief over first time out.
Forecasts
Dubai Fountain (4/7), She Do (7/4), Lady Menilly (25/1), Steely Queen (33/1)
On paper this looks to be between She Do and DUBAI FOUNTAIN and the latter is preferred. Mark Johnston's juveniles always merit the utmost respect and this trip looks a good starting point for a filly who should stay a fair bit further in time. She Do looks more likely to be a miler, but that is not to say she can't make a winning debut herself, and any major market move might suggest that could be the case. The other pair make little appeal.
- Dubai Fountain
- She Do
- Steely Queen
