By Braze Beau out of a fair 5f AW winner. Yard in good form with its older horses, so not dismissed, but 0-17 with juveniles here in recent years, and others more appealing at first glance.
Kodiac half-brother to useful 2-y-o 6½f winner Royal Commando out of 5f winner, herself out of a half-sister to Sprint Cup winner Red Clubs. Unusual to see blinkers on a debutant from this yard, but this 185,000 gns purchase takes the eye on paper.
Exceed And Excel half-sister to 5f/6f winner Laubali, out of a winning half-sister to useful 6f/1m Above N Beyond. Bred to be sharp, and one to note carefully on debut.
Full-sister to 2-y-o 6f winner Seraphinite and half-sister to 2-y-o 1m1f winner Counterproof, out of a winning half-sister to smart performers Smirk and Stetchworth Prince. Yard has had patchy results with juveniles to have run so far this month.
Forecasts
Yazaman (10/11), Different Face (2/1), Swooper (13/2), Nurse Florence (10/1)
Blinkers on racecourse debut may raise an eyebrow, but YAZAMAN is by far the most interesting of the quartet on paper, and the only one nominated for ballot exemption, which is a further pointer to his chances. The others are all bred to be sharp to one degree or another, with Different Face probably the pick with the Crisford horses running much better than a modest strike-rate would imply. Swooper represents a yard in fine form, albeit with a modest record with two-year-olds here.
- Yazaman
- Different Face
- Swooper
