Half-sister to eight winners including a Listed scorer in France, but allowed to go off at huge odds on her belated debut here in January, where she showed little after a very tardy start. Has left Steve Flook.
Son of Kodiac who was well backed, and shaped with credit when a keeping-on fourth of 8 to Irish Acclaim in a 7f maiden at Kempton in February. Seems certain to improve, and longer trip in his favour.
Hot Streak gelding out of an unraced sister to useful 1m winner Maywood. Sent off at 100/1 and failed to show much in the mud at Newbury in October.
By Archipenko out of John Porter and St Simon Stakes winner Cubanita. Outpaced on debut at Salisbury (7f) last July, but no surprise to see him thrive over further this year. Market will be useful regarding his chances.
Half-brother to Group 3 winner Master of Wine, and a 175,000 gns Breeze-up purchase. Better than the bare result when fifth of 10 to Society Lion in heavy-ground 7f novice at Yarmouth in October. Sure to improve, and worthy of consideration.
Half-brother to 2000 Guineas runner-up Glory Awaits and 7f winner Warrior's Spirit. Failed to beat a rival over 1m at Kempton in December. Likely to put that behind him in due course, but makes limited appeal here.
Night of Thunder half-brother to 6f-1m winner Staisenzapenzieri, and 6f/7f winner Just An Idea. In very good hands, and one of the more appealing newcomers on paper.
Siyouni filly who cost 450,000 gns as a yearling. Finished best when 1L third of 12 to African Dream in a 7f novice on debut at Lingfield in February. Sure to progress, and holds leading claims on form.
Gleneagles half-sister to Group 2 Zabeel Mile winner Mythical Magic and Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes winner Esentepe. Better than result when eighth of 15 to Lady Lynetta in a 7f maiden at Newmarket in September, and likely to do much better. Respected.
Iffraaj half-sister to 2-y-o 6f winner Furas out of a 2-y-o 7f winner. Cost €30,000 as a yearling, but faces no easy task on belated racecourse bow, and others may have her measure.
Hellvelyn filly who couldn't go the pace when down the field over 6f here in February, and is hard to make a case for, even allowing for inexperience.
Daughter of Slade Power who showed a modicum of ability in similar events at Southwell and Newcastle in February. Cheekpieces reached for now, but others have much stronger credentials.
Forecasts
Asbaagh (15/8), Streak Lightning (11/5), Al Badr (7/2), Master The Stars (15/2), Dream Round (11/1), Eveaaj (40/1), Caribeno (50/1), Quarry Bay (100/1), Psychic Power (125/1), Beat The Heat (150/1), Champagne Castle (250/1), Franbella (250/1)
The Sheikh Hamdan colours ought to come to the fore here, with ASBAAGH holding leading form claims having finished best on debut at Lingfield. Al Badr was also doing his best work late at Kempton in February and looks sure to progress. That pair could dominate the market, although others are of some interest, notably Master The Stars, who was better than the result at Yarmouth on his only start, and is a half-brother to a Group 3 winner in Australia.
- Asbaagh
- Al Badr
- Master The Stars
