Hit a purple patch last summer in a four-run spell (1221); scored at Haydock and Musselburgh making all on both occasions (5f). Forced into better company for his final run last year (ran on wrong part of track); has to prove himself off this mark.
Made a winning return to action for the second year running when taking a 5f AW handicap (also scored on career debut). Followed up his opening win last year with a 6f win here; follows a similar path this year albeit over 5f this time; sound chance.
Makes a belated hat-trick bid having landed two 6f handicaps last autumn improving on his Brighton win at Wolverhampton (travelled strongly, better for blinkers). Could well go and prove better than this grade although he's got his fitness to prove.
First run for a yard that have a good record with rejuvenating sprinters. Started last season well and bounced back towards the end of the season in a first-time visor at Ripon (cashed-in on a lenient mark); won't be a surprise to see him involved.
Holds the track record over 5f on the July Course and does need quick ground so any rain will be a disadvantage. Mixed efforts since winning last July underlining his inconsistent nature; 5lb above his last winning mark, may need this outing.
Rounded off last year which included a C&D win on good ground with a career-best at Yarmouth (5f, good/firm). 6lb higher now he'll need to find some further progress, has been placed off long absences before, strong traveller who can't be ruled out.
On a long losing sequence having yet to be rejuvenated by the switch to this stable (also run Diamond Dougal). Shown promise on two occasions over 5f at Chelmsford (unexposed on AW); failed over 6f last time; needs others to falter.
Took two 5f handicaps last year and now finds himself back on the same mark as when successful on the July Course last June. Stayed in form after that in five outings without winning (all at 5f) but looked ready for a move back to 6f when last seen.
Appears the lesser of the stables two runners in this with all of four wins gained on the AW (4-12), 0-3 on turf when with Roger Charlton. Offered little in two starts for this yard (bought for 26,000gns), needs to show some form to be of interest.

A competitive finale with some interesting angles amongst the runners. Motagally is the one who could well progress beyond this grade as he searches for his hat-trick but he is up 8lb against some battle-hardened sprinters and may just need the outing to put an edge on him. TOP BREEZE is following a similar path to last year and his course experience albeit over further make him of interest – he still looks well handicapped. Sprinting stable switchers to the Cowell team are always worth noting and Diamond Dougal features on a good mark while his stablemate Savalas is thrown in on his old form but does find winning hard. Daschas brings some useful form into the contest and is respected.
