Tremendous old sprinter who won this in 2017 and 2018 and failed by just half a length when third in this last year behind shock scorer Keystroke (who reopposes). Sure to go very well once again and comes out top by some way on official figures.
Very progressive mare last term when moving up from handicaps to land 7f Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster in September. Goes well fresh but faces tough task at weights and dropping back a furlong.
Group 2 Gimcrack winner in 2018 and was highly tried last term when well beaten in English and Irish 2000 Guineas. Won Salisbury 6f conditions final start and sprinting could be his game. Worth checking for signs of market confidence.
Landed Goodwood 5f and 6f handicaps last last summer but found out at this level when well beaten on final start of 2019. Has plenty to find at the weights and will do very well to figure at the finish.
Sprang 66/1 shock in this race 12 months ago on just third start for current yard. Tweice placed at this level later in term proving that win no fluke so has to be respected as this place seems to bring out the best in him.
Talented sprint who is a previous C&D winner. Landed Group 2 event on debut last year so can go well after an absence. Lost his way subsequent starts in 2019 but may bounce back following a long break and bold show cannot be ruled out.
Second in Listed Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury last May and ended season winning prestigious Portland Handicap at Doncaster off a mark of 105. Interestng contender with last year's champion apprentice on board.
Forecasts
Brando (11/4), Oxted (7/2), Emaraaty Ana (7/2), Breathtaking Look (5/1), Mr Lupton (15/2), Keystroke (10/1), Green Power (33/1)
Old BRANDO is favoured by the weights and should make a very bold bid to land this for the third time in the last four years. He loves it here and can gain his revenge on shock 2019 scorer Keystroke who will again give a good account of himself. Mr Lupton is a rock solid performer and could prove a danger to all if reprising his Group 2 win first time out last year, while the up-and-coming Oxted and Emaraaty Ana, still unexposed at this trip having run in two Classics last year, make this a fascinating contest.
- Brando
- Oxted
- Emaraaty Ana
