Looked a smart prospect as a juvenile but yet to add to his Newmarket maiden success. Notably good effort to chase home Indeed in a valuable contest last summer. First run on Tapeta but yard have a 25% strike rate with their older AW runners.
Consistent gelding settled better than expected in a small field last time over this trip which was considered short of his best. Should get more cover here and no surprise to see him involved again with his yard in such good form.
Successful over 1m2f at Lingfield in November and did not get the best of runs when fourth to Rangali Island here last month. Has to be ridden patiently and that requires luck in running from an inside berth.
Front-runner is closely matched with Kaser and Rangali Island on recent form since returning from a break. Should be at peak fitness now and so could be harder to peg back this time.
Has defied the handicapper in four of his last five and his style of racing makes him hard for the handicapper to evaluate. Swooped late to catch Sha La La Lee here a month ago and remains open to further improvement.
Landed back to back races over C&D at the turn of the year and will appreciate the drop back to this grade following stiff tasks on his last two starts. All five career wins have come here and he is tactically versatile.
Debuts for new yard having gone 2-5 for Paul George. Trip, surface and weight are all fine, but fitness to prove after nine months on the sidelines.
Had been in good form until his revised mark and a drop to 7f counted against him last time. Probably just a class too high here and others preferred.
Forecasts
Furzig (3/1), Rangali Island (4/1), Thrave (9/2), Sha La La La Lee (6/1), Kaser (13/2), Universal Gleam (7/1), Candelisa (12/1), Kodiac Harbour (14/1)
Sha La La Lee will probably attempt to make all once more and will hope to last that little bit longer than when overhauled by Kaser and RANGALI ISLAND on his last two starts. The former has faced stiff tasks since whilst the selection gives the impression he has had more in hand than the tight margins of victory have suggested lately. Furzig beat a good field at Chelmsford and has to be feared, whilst Universal Gleam looks capable granted luck in running. Thrave looked smart as a juvenile and is another to consider in an open heat given his yard's record with their AW performers on the Flat.
- Rangali Island
- Furzig
- Sha La La La Lee
