Yard won this race three years ago and this mare shaped with promise last time after 20-month absence when good second at Doncaster last month. Up 2lb but should still prove very competitive if handling the ground.
Both wins have come over this trip at Ayr in heavy ground but hasn't hit the target for over two years. Coming down the weights after a series of modest efforts and remains hard to recommend on current evidence.
Yard has won this race an impressive three times in the last eight years. Stays further and has won on heavy ground and may be suited by coming back in trip here off lowest career handicap mark. Big run would not surprise.
Won in good style over 2m4f at Southwell in November but has appeared in handicapper's grip off 8lb higher on both subsequent starts. Heavy ground wouldn't appear deal based on comments of trainer's representative last time.
Has run well without success on a number of occasions last few seasons and returns now following wind surgery. Yard in good form, has won in heavy ground in the past, and is nicely handicapped on pick of old form.
Only win over timber (and last success) came on this card three years ago over 2m. On the rostrum four times from last five starts but isn't easy to win with and others make a little more appeal.
Veteran whose last win came in May 2018 but went very close in heavy ground over C&D last time off 2lb lower mark so not comnpletely out of this getting weight from all his rivals.
Forecasts
Louse Talk (2/1), Grand Turina (7/2), Absolutely Dylan (6/1), Glance Back (7/1), Broughtons Rhythm (7/1), Pembroke House (15/2), Hills Of Dubai (16/1)
Sue Smith seems to target this race and her ABSOLUTELY DYLAN looks set to go well coming back in distance and encountering ideal underfoot conditions. Louse Talk has had another wind operation but had been in fair form prior to the op, so if it makes the hoped for difference he should be right on the premises. Connections must have been thrilled with the second place from Grand Turina last time after 20 months on the sidelines and she could be a big danger if able to back up that effort. On his old form Hills Of Dubai is nicely handicapped but has to prove he still has what it takes in this sphere.
- Absolutely Dylan
- Louse Talk
- Grand Turina
