Making his debut for this stable when beaten 11½L into seventh in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Cheltenham (soft) in January; needs to bounce back from poor run last time at Huntingdon.
Put in a career best performance over course and distance in February showing a game attitude in the closing stages; more on his plate here but still looks one for shortlist.
Enjoyed a fruitful 2016-17 season (four wins); has lost his way over fences from late 2018 onward (UPUP); pulled-up on return to the smaller obstacles here (3m) on New Year's Day.
Already been notching up the wins in easier novice company and on better ground but has arguably ran better races in defeat on his last two runs at Cheltenham; could still be on the upgrade and one to consider.
Tough and consistent gelding who lost all chance last time over course and distance through racing too keenly; if settling better he should run his race and definite place possibilities.
A smart handicapper on his day but is prone to throwing in the occasional poor performance; not disgraced last time out at Ascot in February and no forlorn hope on best of his form.

French hurdles winner who failed to live up to the promise of his British debut at Ascot on his next start; much better effort last time not beaten far in decent race at Newbury; chance if pushing on again.
Useful sort on the Flat; had some useful hurdles form in 2016/17 season; two recent decent efforts in December suggested he still retains his form over hurdles and could be a danger.
Ran into a blot when behind Sir Psycho (fifth in Triumph Hurdle yesterday) in Exeter Novices' Hurdle on New Year's Day; might have a squeak if progressing.
Just one poor performance in his last six outings (at Cheltenham in October); another good run last time at Sandown in January and seemingly laid out for this contest; interesting.
Took his first two novice hurdle starts in 2018 but has yet to add to those victories in handicaps with a couple of performances making him look a difficult ride. First-time cheekpieces now reached for off his lowest handicap mark yet.
Struggling this season over fences and no immediate change in fortune over timber at Ascot last month; cheekpieces tried now.
Decent fifth in a novice hurdle over this trip at Cheltenham (good-to-soft) in October but struggled on handicap debut upped to 3m at Newbury (good-to-soft) the following month; better effort over course and distance last time and no back number.
Has finished third over course and distance on his last two starts; generally consistent and if running up to the same mark has chances on course he obviously loves.
Won his first two starts over hurdles (both 2m, good) last season but then failed to build further in three 2019 starts (all in good races); has undergone wind surgery since and handicapper cuts some slack; needs bounce back from fall last time out.
Can race here off a career low mark and showed last season he has plenty of ability; looks to have been saved for this contest and likely to go well.
Seemed to relish the return to hurdles last time at Market Rasen winning well for pressure in the closing stages; more to do here but will be full of vigour and not easy to discount.
Maiden hurdle winner at Thurles in February 2019 but failed to build on that in four subsequent starts before putting in a fine performance last time out at Doncaster; much more needed but going the right way.

SMARTY WILD has been aimed at this race all season and there is no reason why he can't put up a useful display to add to his win at Exeter earlier this season. His has run up to a similar level on his next two starts and if reproducing the best of his form, he may prove hard to beat. The Butcher Said has been in better form of late in defeat than when landing a four-timer earlier in the season. If carrying on his rate of progression he can run a big race. Tamaroc Du Mathan would not need to improve too much on his latest effort at Newbury to be a leading player. The relatively lightly-raced Coeur de Lion should not be underestimated.
