Encouraging sort. Promising debut effort in this sphere at Newcastle in January 2019 and defied year-long absence with gutsy success at Musselburgh (2m) in January. Had a penalty to concede but sets the form standard.

Sole winner of Irish point-to-point and made perfectly encouraging debut here (1m5f) in November. Bettered that with impressive success at Bangor (2m) last month and holds leading claims despite penalty.
£22,000 Black Sam Bellamy gelding and full-brother to useful bumper winner/hurdler Passam. Yard has a poor 1-18 record in bumpers recently but market should be a guide on debut.

Has a jumps pedigree given he's a half-brother to a point-to-point winner. Dam was a maiden hurdler and is a sister to 3m chaser Fistral Beach. Stamina-laden pedigree so may need further in time.
Malinas gelding. Half-Brother to hurdler Rose To Fame. Dam was a 120-rated performer over hurdles so pedigree makes plenty of appeal on paper and likely to be supported for debut.
€26,000 three-year-old gelding by Getaway. Dam was a hurdles winner up to 2m7f and reached career-high rating of 101. Likely to be better over further in time.

Twice a runner in similar contests but not particularly offering much hope in either start. Beaten over 20L at Musselburgh on latest start so needs to find plenty of improvement now.

Maiden point-to-pointer who was pulled up in three of those starts before distant third on final start in that sphere. Likely to be outsider on his rules debut.

Uninspiring when pulling-up and falling in first two point-to-point starts before getting off the mark at the third time of asking. Bought for £55,000 since then and looks like stable's number one hope.

Finished well-beaten on point-to-point bumper at Barbury Castle in January 2019 and fared little better over C&D a year later. Comes into this off another absence and looks to offer very little appeal.

Mare by Universal, dam was a bumper winner and is a half-sister to modest hurdler Fricka. Yard are 0-17 in bumpers in last five seasons which is off-putting and others are preferred.
14
Horse silk
125/1
Gelded son of Aussie Rules who was outsider for debut and ran according when last of 12 in Kempton bumper (2m). Visor quickly reached for but looks to have plenty to do in this contest.
15
Horse silk
11/1
Son of Fame And Glory who showed some signs of promise before fading for seventh at Warwick (2m) just over a month ago. Likely to be sharper for this contest but yard's recent record in bumpers is a concern.
€15,000 purchase as a three-year-old by Leading Light. Dam is a half-sister to a couple of winners and stable does have winners first time out in bumpers so would be very dangerous to dismiss.

Faivoir (11/8), The Bees Knees (11/2), Inca Rose (6/1), Norley (6/1), Dorking Lad (7/1), Blackjack Magic (9/1), Deer Hunter (11/1), Div Ine Tara (14/1), Highland Parc (16/1), Elios D'Or (33/1), Kiplin (50/1), Peaky (66/1), Irish Sovereign (100/1), Distant Universe (100/1), Berry Poppins (100/1), Cardboard Shoes (125/1)

Verdict

There is a lot of unexposed potential heading into this contest but one who already has experience under his belt in NORLEY could be one step ahead of the runners. He shaped well for a long way before tiring last time out and that debut effort should have made him more street-wise in this contest. The top-two set the form standard with their recent victories but do have penalties to contend, with Faivoir looking the more impressive over Elios D'Or comparing their victories. Other debutante's that could run well include the Fergal O'Brien-trained duo of Div Ine Tara and The Bees Knees.
  1. Norley
  2. Faivoir
  3. Elios D'Or
