Had been very inconsistent and wind surgery didn't seem to irk out any improvement until solid second at Doncaster (3m) in early February. This trip should be ideal and could have more progression.

Flattering to deceive since good third at Leicester in December. Didn't fare as well as the result suggested when 41L third at that track (2m6f) in February. Needs to find a bit more on that form.

Promising second over 3m1f over hurdles here in November but not as good since, including 17L defeat over C&D. Remains a maiden after 20 starts and is probably best watched once again.

Taken a while to come to hand and hadn't looked as if the wind surgery had improved him until success at Fontwell (2m5f) last time. Form of that doesn't look the strongest however so bit more needed.

Arthur's Reubenp,t32
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: Ross Chapman| T: J Candlish| OR:  84| CD
5/2
C&D winner on his second attempt over fences in January 2019 but hasn't been as god since. Plugging on for a place when unseating at Uttoxeter (3m) and 2lb below last winning mark. Respected.

Hasn't won in four starts for this yard but steadily progressing. Took advantage of tumbling mark when 9L second at Plumpton (2m1f) last time and 1lb lighter but drastically steps up in trip.

Placed in four of his last five starts and looked to be given a chance in the weights but was a poor eighth at this track (3m1f) on latest start. Back up 3lb so has a bit more to find.

Max Dynamoh47
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-8| J: Jordan Nailor(5)| T: Mrs E Bishop| OR:  78

Started to put a string of good efforts for previous handler Jim Wilson and hampered slightly when fourth over C&D on first start for this yard. 2lb lighter and could come on again for that effort.

Some Finishb,t114
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-5| J: Tabitha Worsley(5)| T: R Dickin| OR:  75| D

Starting to be hard to catch right these days and sprung a surprise at Hereford (3m1f) in January. Three no shows when pulling-up since however and incredibly hard to trust in this.

Eaton Miller34
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-5| J: Benjamin Poste| T: T Symonds| OR:  75| CD

C&D winner in April but not put best foot forward since. Recent second was followed by poor effort over 3m1f here but now 1lb below previous winning mark. Some claims.

Horse silk
Deewhyh1,t47
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-4| J: N F Houlihan(7)| T: Mrs L C Jewell| OR:  74
100/1
Rank outsider in every start to date and not showing encouraging signs. Cannot be judged on recent early exit over C&D but previous form suggests he is not good enough.

Cockney Seagullt,v64
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-0| J: Lewis Stones(7)| T: Mrs L C Jewell| OR:  66
100/1
Ungenuine sort who remains a maiden and very poor in two starts this season, pulling up at both Fakenham and Lingfield (2m4f). Steps back up in trip but has plenty to prove at present.

Forecasts

Arthur's Reuben (5/2), Imperial Nemesis (5/1), Eaton Miller (6/1), Scaramucci (6/1), Chain Smoker (13/2), Max Dynamo (8/1), Stonebrigg Legend (11/1), Leskinfere (16/1), Silent Encore (20/1), Some Finish (50/1), Deewhy (100/1), Cockney Seagull (100/1)

Verdict

Previous C&D seems to be the fore in this contest and previous successor ARTHUR'S REUBEN looks an attractive prospect. The seven-year-old will hopefully not show any ill-effects for a recent mishap and is dangerously poised on his current handicap mark. Imperial Nemesis heads the weights after a recent encouraging effort and the wind operation may be taking a positive effect. Max Dynamo is seemingly unexposed for this yard and was unlucky over C&D last time, while Chain Smoker brings winning form to the table but looks a slightly ungenuine sort.
