Showed ability both on the Flat and over hurdles when trained by Brian Ellison. Nine race maiden over hurdles but has proceeded to hit the frame on seven of those starts. Gives the impression we may not have seen the best of him yet.

Has appeared to run well in defeat but distances beaten have raised concerns. Well held in two starts since the turn of the year but no surprise to witness improvement.

Form since returning to action in December following an eight-month lay-off has left plenty to be desired in three disappointing efforts. In the right hands to conjure improvement.

Off the mark at the seventh time of asking on handicap debut at Punchestown in January off a 8lb lower mark. Fourth of 20 off revised mark at Gowran Park last month and plenty to prove here.

Gelding by Shantou out of a Lord Americo mare. Changed hands for £15,000 at the Ascot sales last month. Never a factor on first start over hurdles at Fairyhouse when last seen in April.

Verdict

ELUSIVE REBELDOM got off the mark at the second time of asking over hurdles landing a Punchestown maiden over 2m½f on heavy ground last month and can improve again in his retained hood. The Willie Mullins-trained Andalusa can be expected to be better than her initial starts over hurdles suggest, while Bal Del Rio and Behind The Curtain should not be underestimated.

  2. Andalusa
  3. Behind The Curtain
