Imperial Monarch mare from a versatile dam (Flat and hurdles scorer, 2m-2m5f); half-sister to the 2m hurdle winner Hag Stone; finished a tailed-off fifth of eight on debut (28-1) at Ayr (2m, soft) early in the New Year.

Forecasts

Wetlands (7/4), Drenagh (2/1), Get With It (6/1), Nyoufsea (6/1), Stolen Money (12/1), Fabuleux Du Clos (16/1), Muhtamar (28/1), That's Your Lottie (100/1)

Verdict

Drenagh is certainly notable as a first ever Newcastle runner for the Bridgnorth trainer Alastair Ralph while the locally-owned Nyoufsea made a most encouraging start to his racing career when finishing fourth on the Tapeta here 43 days ago. Furthermore, the chances are that Rose Dobbin's Get With It (cost €78,000 as a three-year-old) can show improvement from debut. However, the form standard is clearly set by the Trevor Hemmings-owned WETLANDS. He was strong in the market (7-4f) when a creditable fourth to Unohu in an arguably stronger heavy ground C&D bumper in November and appeals as another potential winner for title-chasing Brian Hughes.
  1. Wetlands
  2. Drenagh
  3. Get With It
