Showed plenty when runner-up in a Huntingdon bumper, and proved game when sharing the spoils with Tranchee here (1m) last month. No match for an impressive winner at Chelmsford (1m2f) last time but sets the form standard. First run since wind-op.
Ten-time winner under NH rules, including three bumpers. Won a 'jumpers bumper' at Wolverhampton (2m½f) last Sunday and is an interesting contender given his rating over jumps (139). Yard's only previous Fibresand runner was victorious.
Son of Sea The Stars who made a decent start to life at Kempton (1m4f) 17 days ago. Finished second, beaten 1¾L, behind a 79-rated winner and a repeat of that effort should see him involved if handling this surface.
Half-brother to a dual course winner and useful Regal Monarch. Was very green on debut at Chelmsford (1m2f), finishing 7L behind Makthecat. Yard's runners can improve massively for a run so worth a second look if there's any support for him.
128-rated hurdler who won at Fontwell (2m1½f) in November. No great shakes in two Flat runs (nine months apart) but has the ability to win on the level albeit further down the line when qualified for handicaps.
Dam and half-brother both won on Polytrack. Didn't shape too badly on debut at Newcastle (1m2f) 13 months ago when fourth, beaten 4¼L. Left John Gosden for just 1,500 gns and best watched on stable debut.
€28,000 yearling. Fourth foal and previous three siblings all won from 7f to 1m2f. Beaten 55L on debut at Doncaster (1m2f) for Clive Cox last June and no reappears for a new yard against decent opposition. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Latin Knight (13/8), Makthecat (9/4), Hatcher (5/1), Paseo (11/2), Miss Morocco (14/1), Mountain Ruler (16/1), We've Got The Love (100/1)
Makthecat sets the standard on Flat form, having won here and finished second in his two starts, but may well struggle to beat HATCHER. Rated in the mid-130's over jumps and winner of a 'jumpers bumper' easily last Sunday, he is an interesting recruit to this sphere. Latin Knight ran well at Kempton on debut but will need to build on that on a new surface whilst Mountain Ruler didn't look devoid of ability on debut despite showing his inexperience.
- Hatcher
- Makthecat
- Mountain Ruler
