Fairly useful in bumpers he won on his GB debut in this sphere before failing to justify favouritism In a Cheltenham Listed event. Landed the odds with very little fuss on his hurdling debut at Fakenham, should progress under his penalty.

Useful sort on the Flat he confirmed the form of his hurdling debut when winning at Fontwell (behind the useful Goshen on debut). Failed to repeat that effort last time (got racing too early); form of that race looks strong, could bounce back.

Fairly useful Flat sort he justified strong support on his hurdling debut at Catterick when left with little to beat (margin of victory, 1L disguises the ease of his win). Faced a stiff task last time bur acquitted himself well; needs a sharp test.

Unpenalised for his win in an conditionals handicap (took full advantage of a generous weight-for-age allowance) at Kempton he's only been seen over hurdles once since. Failed to impress in another handicap; work to do with these at the weights.
Debutant with a decent pedigree who is rather thrown in at the deep end on his first try over hurdles. Half-brother to 2¼m chase winner Tonia d'Airy with some decent relations on the dam's side; worth a market check.

Forecasts

Grand Roi (1/2), Manucci (4/1), Scorched Earth (9/2), Go On Brycey Lad (25/1), Catch The Cuban (33/1)

Verdict

Those that have run are all winners over hurdles with GRAND ROI looking the one who could make the most progress despite only winning a soft race last time at Fakenham. Useful in bumpers he dispatched seven rivals with the minimum of fuss and should be able to follow up. Scorched Earth shaped well last time when given a tough task against his elders but he may prefer a shaper test and it’s Manucci who has run well behind useful Goshen twice that offers the main danger. His Fontwell win came in testing conditions so the ground won’t prove any problem as he bids to regain the wining thread.
  1. Grand Roi
  2. Manucci
  3. Scorched Earth
