Recorded her first hurdles success when winning by a neck in a 2m3f novice event at Fontwell (soft) in December. Good neck second over an extended 2m4f at Newbury (heavy) subsequently and holds strong claims in this contest.

Winner of a novice hurdle over an extended 1m7f at Wincanton (heavy) in December and should appreciate the drop back in trip having disappointed over an extended 2m5f at the same venue subsequently.

Returning from wind surgery and still held claims when brought down four out in a maiden hurdle over an extended 2m3f at Lingfield (heavy) last month. Worth a check in the market for a useful stable.

Well beaten in two starts in bumpers including when 69L 13th over 1m6f at Ludlow (soft) in December. Others make more appeal on debut over hurdles.
Signs of ability in a bumper and a novice hurdle earlier this campaign but was beaten 107L over an extended 2m5f at Wincanton (soft) on her most recent outing just over three weeks ago. Probably best watched dropping in distance.
Making her seasonal reappearance when finishing 29L fourth in a soft ground 2m bumper at Ffos Las in November. Interesting to see how she performs on debut over hurdles.

100/1
Finished down the field on all three starts to date most recently when beaten 98L over an extended 2m7f at Chepstow (heavy) last month. Others make more appeal dropping markedly in distance.
Placed in a point-to-point on yielding-to-soft ground at Knockinroe on debut in October and showed ability when 10½L seventh in a bumper at Doncaster (good-to-soft) on stable debut last month. Market support would be notable on debut over hurdles.

11 race maiden under all codes and is probably best watched here having pulled up over an extended 2m on soft ground at Taunton at the end of December.

Forecasts

Whitehotchillifili (4/6), Martha Brae (2/1), A Perfect Gift (5/1), Uptown Lady (10/1), Kayf Sera Sera (20/1), Katies Escape (25/1), Memphis Bell (100/1), Fillybusta (100/1), Ideal Grace (200/1)

Verdict

MARTHA BRAE has been in good form since switching to hurdles and she can register her second victory over obstacles by defying a penalty to take this mares only contest. The selection can see off Whitehotchillifili who should appreciate the drop back in distance while third place can go the way of A Perfect Gift who still held claims when being brought down on her hurdling debut earlier this season.
  1. Martha Brae
  2. Whitehotchillifili
  3. A Perfect Gift
