Aye Aye Charlie68
Age: 8|  Weight: 12-0| J: Liam Harrison(5)| T: F O'Brien| OR:  132
9/4
Has kept good company so far over fences and finished a decent 18L third in a five-runner novice chase over further at Cheltenham in December. Given a break since and holds decent claims on handicap debut.

Copper West49
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr N George(3)| T: T R George| OR:  130| D
12/1
Three wins and three placed efforts from a dozen starts over fences, yet to be tested over this far and New Year's Day run at Musselburgh was a poor one; may prefer better ground.
3
Horse silk
One Style61
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-11| J: Miss Lucy Turner(5)| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  129
11/4
Winner of his last four starts over fences, either side of 601-day absence; ready successes at Hereford (3m1f, soft) and Uttoxeter (2m4f' heavy) in December and likely has leading claims again despite 19lb ratings-hike.
4
Horse silk
9/2
Irish point-to-point winner scored at Huntingdon (2m4f, good to soft) in November and December's Newbury run best forgiven after early mistake unsettled him. Eased 2lb since and every chance of further progress to come.
5
Horse silk
Fort Gabriel42
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-7| J: Mrs C Hardwick(3)| T: D G Bridgwater| OR:  125| CD
9/1
Bold jumping, front-running chaser; back from a long layoff win over C&D last month despite not always jumping fluently. That was a career-best and he's 8lb higher now in attempting to build on it.
6

Driftwood Haze20
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-3| J: Mr James King| T: P C Dando| OR:  121| D
14/1
Ran well to finish 1L third in a novices' handicap chase over an extended 2m3f at Ffos Las (heavy) at the end of last month. Races off a lower mark here but this is a tougher assignment on paper.
7
Horse silk
Florrie Boy18
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-1| J: Jack Savage(3)| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR:  119
6/1
Has made the racetrack only four times since late 2016; went close in a decent Worcester handicap chase in August 2018 from 4lb higher. Remains unexposed over fences and could be plenty sharper for recent hurdles return; notable.

Forecasts

Aye Aye Charlie (9/4), One Style (11/4), Hes No Trouble (9/2), Florrie Boy (6/1), Fort Gabriel (9/1), Copper West (12/1), Driftwood Haze (14/1)

Verdict

He's on a four-race racing winning sequence that began in April 2018 and One Style has made light of 601-day absence with his wins at Hereford and Uttoxeter but the handicapper has clattered him with a 19lb for his latest easy win and that makes things tough. Fort Gabriel comes here off career-best win over C&D and can again go well from 8lb higher but preference is for the unexposed FLORRIE BOY. He shaped nicely over hurdles at Wetherby recently and could have plenty more to give in this sphere. Handicap debutant Aye Aye Charlie is no forlorn hope while Hes No Trouble is likely better than he was able to show at Newbury.
  1. Florrie Boy
  2. One Style
  3. Aye Aye Charlie
