Improved on his chase debut effort when winning a novices' handicap event over this C&D on soft ground by ½L earlier this month. Raised 3lb for that success and is a leading contender once more.
Good fourth in a handicap chase over an extended 2m5f at Haydock (soft) in December but refused to race at Ayr over the same trip subsequently. Probably best watched at present.
Completed a double when victorious in a 2m4f handicap chase at Newcastle (soft) early last month. Disappointed over hurdles at the same track subsequently and the return to fences here is a positive off a mark 6lb higher than for his latest success.
Struggled in recent starts and handicap mark is falling as a result. Market support would be notable off a mark 2lb lower than for his most recent chase success.
Put a couple of disappointing efforts behind him when finishing 5L second in a handicap chase over an extended 3m2f on soft ground here at the start of this month. Notable runner racing off the same mark in this event.
Decent effort in finishing 11½L sixth in a handicap chase over an extended 2m5f at Ayr (heavy) last month. Likely more needed and best form has come on ground quicker than is forecast on this occasion.
Returning from a lengthy absence when finishing a well held seventh over an extended 2m5f at Ayr (heavy) last month. Market support would be notable having won off a 2lb higher mark in the past.
Followed up a novices' handicap chase victory over an extended 2m7f at Kelso (good-to-soft) in October with a good second over the same C&D on heavy going the following month. Interesting despite pulling up at Huntingdon on his most recent start.
Making his first start since wind surgery when finishing 16½L sixth in a 3m1f handicap chase at Catterick (soft) last month. Has won over C&D in the past but others appear to hold stronger claims in this contest.
Forecasts
Oscar Ceremony (4/1), Dr Hooves (4/1), So Satisfied (4/1), Pinch Of Ginger (5/1), King Golan (7/1), Achill Road Boy (9/1), Shanroe Street (9/1), The Trigger (11/1), Craiganboy (12/1)
PINCH OF GINGER can put a below par effort over hurdles last time out by making a winning return to fences following a break. The selection represents a good yard and with a top jockey in the saddle he can get the better of his rivals here with top weight Dr Hooves capable of finishing second having won here last time out. Third place can go to Achill Road Boy who ran well over further when placed on his latest start.
- Craiganboy
- Dr Hooves
- Achill Road Boy
