Knocking on the door in handicaps of late, and fitted with cheekpieces for the first time when a 1L second of 8 to Broughtons Flare over C&D on Wednesday. Should be thereabouts again.
Still a maiden, and had a breathing operation prior to his recent return over C&D when 6L sixth of 10 to Johnny Reb. Needs to step up a fair bit on that to get involved, but cheekpieces should help, and he'll be sharper for the run.
Won twice last year, and while he can throw in the odds poor run, he got back to form with a pleasing third of 9 to Velvet Morn at Lingfield last month, beaten just a neck. Big player if putting his best foot forward again.
Below form since a Brighton win in the autumn, but he's quickly fallen 3lb below that winning mark, and returned to some form when beaten less than 2L into fifth at Chelmsford last time. Blinkers reached for now, and not ruled out.
Had slipped to a lenient mark prior to getting back to winning ways at Chelmsford last time, beating Sonnet Rose. Not gone up much for that, but isn't certain to be in the same form given his patchy record.
Best recent effort when second to Calin's Lad in a C&D handicap in December. Had won here earlier last autumn, and possibly best to ignore a below par effort when racing freely at Wolverhampton last time.
Won a 0-50 handicap over 6f here in March for Richard Guest, and followed up next time, but largely out of sorts since. Off since July, and likely to need the run starting out for a new yard.
Had been in the doldrums, but back to form from reduced mark of late, and nothing wrong with his 3L second of 11 to Griggy at Wolverhampton last time, when he had Swissal back in third. Respected.
Back to winning ways in a 0-50 handicap here last month, but that's his level these days, and he's not made much impact since.
Placed a couple of times in May, but below form when last seen in December, and makes limited appeal on her return from another break here.
Has shown himself to be very limited in his career to date, and his true handicap mark is a lowly 34, which puts his task here in perspective.
Forecasts
Kyllachy Dragon (2/1), Mochalov (5/2), Swissal (6/1), Our Man In Havana (8/1), Ubla (11/1), Derry Boy (12/1), Wilson (16/1), Navarra Princess (16/1), Satchville Flyer (50/1), Mr Potter (66/1), Hornby (150/1)
OUR MAN IN HAVANA had Swissal behind when second to a thriving sort last time, and that form looks better with the latter winning since. He's preferred to Mochalov, who was perhaps unlucky not to win at Lingfield last time, and should go well once more. Kyllachy Dragon is a reliable sort here, and he should not be far away once more.
