Useful hurdler when trained in France; ran to a similar level when sent chasing on his GB/stable debut in novice company at Doncaster after long absence. Could yet make up for lost time now going handicapping; also engaged 2.12 Wincanton Saturday.

3/1
Dual bumper/hurdles winner who looks a chaser; duly improved on his low-key start over fences (needed run) at Kempton when winning at Doncaster. Dominated a lesser-field last time (jumped sketchily); has more to find on chasing handicap debut.

In cracking form over hurdles last spring rattling off a handicap hurdles hat-trick defying a higher mark each time. Took a couple of starts to get the hang of chasing this term but did so when winning at Exeter in positive fashion; more to come.

Three-time hurdles winner, March-to-May last year in handicap/novice company (favourite on each occasion), last two wins in weak events. Opened his chase account in less than convincing fashion over 2m (jumped tentatively); steps up in trip here.

5/1
Fair handicap hurdler who bettered that form when finally capitalising on some sound chase form at Uttoxeter (2m4f, heavy) last time. Should appreciate the conditions (stays further) and not one to write off easily; still feasibly handicapped.

Given a more positive ride when showing the benefit of his reappearance run to beat a pair of progressive types at Warwick in December. Just below that level when second last time (late error checked progress); all chase runs over 2m, steps up in tri

Forecasts

The Big Bite (3/1), Rough Night (3/1), Musical Slave (9/2), Neachells Bridge (5/1), Glinger Flame (6/1), Schiehallion Munro (13/2), Caribean Boy (7/1), Murphy's Law (14/1)

Verdict

All bar Caribbean Boy have won over fences and this should produce a competitive race with the majority still looking on the up. Musical Slave can’t be underestimated in handicap company as he’s won four of his six starts in this sphere but he won’t have things all his own way here. The Big Bite needs to brush up his jumping to get involved and the same could be said for Glinger Flame who made plenty of mistakes when winning last time. It took NEACHELLS BRIDGE a while to get off the mark over fences but he beat an experienced field well last time in fair style and his ability to handle the ground and stay further will be useful here. Rough Night is also worthy of a favourable mention.
  1. Neachells Bridge
  2. Musical Slave
  3. Rough Night
