Has taken to this surface very well and comes here defending an unbeaten record at the track (2-2); both of those wins coming at 1m4f. Breezed home last time, looks well up to completing his hat-trick being 2lb well-in under his penalty.

Connections looked as though they were testing the waters on her GB/stable/Fibresand debut over a trip that looked plenty short enough (1m). Ran better over this trip last time on Polytrack; cheekpieces on first-time, mark still looks stiff.

A winner on Fibresand five time (three over C&D) this test will hold no fears for him although he is sitting on a fair losing sequence at the moment. Poor effort last time masked what looked to be a return to form in prior runs; well handicapped.

Course winner (1m4f) with that victory being the first leg of an AW hat-trick at the start of last year. Shaped well here last time off a break over 1m4f, travelled well but once again only produced a tame finish; looks a vulnerable sort.

Verdict

As with the previous handicap there’s plenty of Fibresand form on display with it being hard to ignore the chance of ARABIAN KING, 2-2 at the course the only slight niggle being that he’ll have to cope with a shorter trip. The manner in which he travelled last time suggested that won’t be a problem. He comes up against some hardy types on this surface and both Cold Harbour and Star Ascending are good enough to pounce on any chinks in the selections armour. The former looks the bigger danger having always run consistently here although the latter is now very well handicapped on his old form. Neither Croeso Cymraeg nor Proxy can be ruled out the latter looking interesting for the future.
