Won half of six hurdles so far, including over C&D (heavy) last time out by 7L. Up 9lb for that, his best effort for almost three years. Looks as though he retains plenty of ability and looks a big player again.
Was officially rated 147 after winning the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury (2m4½f, heavy). Not as good since then over either fences or hurdles and has a tough task from this mark unless bettering recent efforts.
Mudlark who is a multiple Flat winner and 2-13 over hurdles at up to 2m2f (stays 2m3f) in France. Changed hands since last seen in October and looks one to watch from this mark on his British debut.
Improving handicap hurdler who has won his last two at Warwick and Haydock (2m3f, soft). Up 12lb since the latter, so will need to continue to find more now, but claimer assigned here and he looks a contender again.
Ended a lengthy losing run, during which time he had largely been very competitive, with a C&D win (heavy) last time in a Class 2 event. Back down in grade, and up 4lb. Contender.
Has won four of her last six and five times over hurdles in total, at up to 2m5½f and including on heavy. Up another 6lb for landing a 0-130 last time. Needs to step up again, but another likely player here.
Dual winner over hurdles at up to 2m2½f. Didn't find improvement for step up to 2m5f on soft at Cheltenham last time, but still ran well. Drops 1lb, but needs to find more to win this.
Mudlark who is a triple hurdles winner at up to 2m4½f. 2lb higher than the most recent of those at Plumpton in October. No surprise to see her run into a place again, but more needed to win.
3m hurdle winner on soft as a novice in 2016, but has not seen much action since, and reappears after two years off here, having changed hands. Resumes from 11lb lower mark, but only really of interest today if supported.
Forecasts
Flinck (11/4), Any Drama (9/2), Runasimi River (5/1), Theo's Charm (7/1), Jacamar (8/1), Shambra (8/1), Poetic Rhythm (9/1), Templeross (12/1), Tap Tap Boom (50/1)
A very competitive event. Flinck looks progressive and he will need to maintain his good strides forward to defy a 12lb rise, so the suggestion is ANY DRAMA. He too is up 9lb for scoring last time, but he looks back on the up and acts both here and on heavy. Theo's Charm and Runasimi River can also both be thereabouts.
- Any Drama
- Flinck
- Theo's Charm
