Yet to win over fences having finished runner-up on his first two starts in this sphere. Ran well enough in a good handicap last time (Caspian Caviar) when he may not have stayed; of interest down in trip and grade.

Useful hurdler who has been very consistent over fences this term finishing in the frame on all five occasions. Good third at Cheltenham last time over 2m4f, this trip may well suit better; deserves a reward for his consistency.

Twice a hurdles winner last season over 2m he put up his best chasing display last time out at Wincanton when the market told of a promising run. Not the biggest so will need to turn in another good jumping display to take a hand.

Yet to really get the hang of chasing falling on his last French start before producing an inauspicious display on his GB/stable debut at Worcester (October 2018). Not seen since then and one to take care with in this company.

Second on all his chasing starts he Is proving consistent without winning recording another runner up spit last time at Huntingdon. Returns from a break and should go well again but no surprise to see him beaten again.

Progressing well over hurdles he went one better when making a successful debut over C&D. Ran just as well when second here last time over 2f further; still looks capable off this same mark; one for the shortlist.

Big Chief Benny384
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-11| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: A King| OR:  119
16/1
Off for a long time having won over hurdles twice in 2016 when gradually regaining his form during last season. Now back from another absence to try his hand over fences; looks sure to need the race.

Forecasts

On The Slopes (2/1), Not That Fuisse (9/4), Celtic Joy (5/1), Ar Mest (6/1), Jaboticaba (12/1), Big Chief Benny (16/1), Brave Dancing (40/1)

Verdict

Several of these have posted sound efforts of late with NOT THAT FUISSE catching the eye with his strong travelling effort in the Caspian Caviar and the drop in class/trip look sure to suit as he returns from a break. On The Slopes put up a good effort at Cheltenham last time and may have made his move a little early, this drop in trip and flatter track look sure to suit. Celtic Joy is already a C&D winner and split a couple of subsequent winners when runner-up here in November, he looks sure to play a part. Both Jaboticaba and Ar Mest produced sound efforts last time and they can’t be left out of the equation in an interesting contest.
  1. Not That Fuisse
  2. On The Slopes
  3. Celtic Joy
