Horse A-Z
Useful sort in bumpers but failed to get his head in front in that sphere (runner-up three times); scored straightaway on his GB/stable debut. Went with plenty of enthusiasm at Doncaster; open to further improvement up in trip.

Off the mark on his debut over hurdles at Chepstow he's not won since but has shown some useful form all the same. Sound fourth in a Cheltenham Listed event last time, he once again has solid claims.

Easy winner of a Wincanton novice over this trip he needs to recover his form after disappointing in a first-time tongue tie in an Ascot handicap last time. Conditions may have been too testing last time; not one to totally write off.

100/1
Point-to point winner who started 25-1 on his hurdling debt but failed to see things out at Uttoxeter in testing conditions (pulled up). May appreciate a better surface but plenty of work to do to get involved.

14/1
Odds-on bumper winner on his debut at Taunton last April he shaped better than the bare result on his hurdling debut at Warwick in November. Open to improvement but has work to do with the principals.

40/1
Irish point-to-point winner (third start, ordinary form) he started 16-1 for his bumper debut. May not have been suited by the relatively sharp test (bred for stamina); returns from a wind op in first time tongue-tie.

50/1
Uttoxeter bumper winner when showing the benefit of his initial experience in November. Shaped as though he needed his first experience over hurdles at Hereford (needs to brush up his hurdling); should do better in time.

9/2
Smart Flat sort who has shown plenty of aptitude for hurdling despite unseating his rider on his debut in this sphere. Again shaped well at Newbury last time over 2m; may appreciate this trip having being a stayer on the Flat.

Returns from a long absence having shown some useful form in bumpers and to a lesser extent over hurdles when last seen. Stable have a better option in On To Victory and he's likely to need this outing.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: J J Burke| T: R Bandey
100/1
Hooded for his return to action after a long break having shown only a modicum of ability on his one run so far in a Warwick bumper. Faces a stiff task on his belated hurdling debut.
Shaped with encouragement on his second start over hurdles and looks the sort who is making gradual improvement each time. Sure to better here he looks one for the longer term.

Looked very limited in bumpers when she was with David Loughnane and showed more temperament than ability on her hurdles debut for this yard. Headgear now dispensed with but hard to see her making any impression.

Forecasts

Ofalltheginjoints (7/4), Global Society (5/2), On To Victory (9/2), Saint De Reve (6/1), Capac (14/1), Perfect Harmony (16/1), The Domino Effect (33/1), Collingwood Court (40/1), Elleon (50/1), Bonanza Sam (100/1), The Boogieman (100/1), Candy Lou (150/1)

Verdict

This is usually won by a useful sort and there are one or two of that calibre in the field. Plenty will want to side with the penalised Global Society who came good on his stable/hurdles/GB debut at Doncaster and very much looks the sort who will enjoy this trip. Ofalltheginjoints is another penalised runner who must be respected after his good run at Cheltenham last time in Listed company. ON TO VICTORY was a smart Flat stayer and it may well be he’ll enjoy this step up to 2m5f having shown that he has plenty of ability over hurdles. Saint De Reve isn’t one to write off but does need to bounce back while Capac, The Domino Man and Collingwood Court all have a future over hurdles.

  2. Global Society
  3. Ofalltheginjoints
